10 Installation

Important:
– Modifications to the vehicle made necessary due to the installation of the product or other components must
always be carried out in such a manner that neither the traffic safety nor the design stability of the motor ve-
hicle is affected. In most cases, cutting out a piece of sheet metal will render the type approval null and void.
Find out ahead of time from the vehicle manufacturer or a specialist shop.
– When mounting the system, consider the risk of an accident resulting from components becoming loose in the
case of an accident. Therefore, you should secure each component in a place where it cannot be dangerous
to passengers.
– Before drilling, make sure that this will not damage any electric cables, brake lines, the fuel tank or similar.
– If holes are bored in the body of your vehicle, the filings must be removed, and the bare metal areas must be
protected against corrosion with suitable measures (colour, preserving spray, etc.).

10.1 Mounting the camera

Important:
– The camera must not obscure any critical elements such as licence plate lights, tail lights or the like. It must
not protrude beyond the vehicle. It must not hinder or obstruct the opening of doors or flaps.
– When attaching the camera, you must always consider its detection area; otherwise, it will not be able to
show obstacles sufficiently or at all. System performance depends on the proper selection of the mounting
place. For this reason, we recommend that you first connect the camera provisionally and determine the final
mounting location based on the monitor image.
– The camera should never be installed directly above the exhaust pipe or at too low a height above the ground.
Besides, there should be no vehicle parts within the detection range. Otherwise, this would impair the function
of the camera.
1. Below is an overview of the individual parts of the camera.
2. Position the camera in the place of installation with the mounting bracket (3) and mark the mounting holes. You
can use the mounting bracket (3) as a template.
3. Use an appropriate drill bit to make the mounting holes that match the fastening screws for the camera and fix
the camera in place.
4. Set the desired tilt angle, align the sunshade as needed and tighten the clamping screws (5) using the supplied
hex key.
5. Screw one of the supplied antennas to the dedicated connection on the back of the camera and align the antenna
vertically.
6. Check whether your vehicle has a suitable opening through which you can guide the connection cable into the
vehicle's interior. Otherwise, you must drill a corresponding hole at a suitable spot. The mounting hole must be at
least 20 mm wide to allow the correct insertion of the cable seal attached to the camera cable.
