• Note that the prongs on the claws must point to-
wards each other after installation (Fig. 9).
m ATTENTION!
Always make sure the device is fully assembled
before commissioning!
9.

Start up

The machine must be placed on a stable and level sur-
face (e.g. concrete floor). To ensure stability, it is nec-
essary to bolt the machine to the floor with two dowels
and screws (at least M10 x 80). (see fig. 15)
Make sure that the machine is installed completely and
properly. Before each use, always check:
• the connection cables for defective areas (cracks,
cuts and the like),
• the machine for possible damage,
• whether all screws are tightened,
• the hydraulic oil for leaks and
• The oil level
• the on/off switch to function.
Check the oil level (fig. 13)
The hydraulic system is a closed system with an oil
tank, oil pump and control valve. Check the oil level
regularly before commissioning. An oil level that is too
low can damage the oil pump. The oil level must be
within the middle mark on the oil dipstick. The splitting
column must be retracted before the check, the ma-
chine must be level. Screw in the oil dipstick fully, to
measure the oil level.
Functional check
Carry out a functional check before every use.

back to the upper position.
An oil level check must be carried out before each
use, see chapter "Maintenance"!
Vent (Fig. 14)
Ventilate the hydraulic system before starting the splitter.
• Loosen the breather cap (14) several turns so that air
can escape from the oil tank.
• Leave the cap open during operation.
• Before you move the splitter, close the cap again,
since oil can run out otherwise.
If the hydraulic system is not vented, the trapped air will
damage the seals and thus the splitter!
Stroke limitation for short wood (Fig. 10)
Lower splitting blade position approx. 10 cm above
splitting table
• Move the splitting blade to the desired position and
release the control arm.
• Switch off the motor.
• Release the second control arm.
• Undo the star grip screw (10a).
• Move stroke adjusting rod (8) up until its stopped by
the spring.
• Tighten the star grip screw (10a) again.
• Switch the motor off.
• Check the upper position.
Switching on/off (12)
Press the green button to switch on.
Press the red button to switch off.
Note: Before each use, always check the function of
the on-off unit by switching it on and off once.
Restart protection in case of power interruption
(zero-voltage trigger)
In the event of a power failure, unintentional removal of
the plug or a defective fuse, the device switches off au-
tomatically. To switch on again, press the green button
on the switching unit again.
Splitting
• Place the wood on the table, hold it with both han-
dles, push the handles downwards, as soon as the
splitting blade penetrates the wood, push the han-
dles outwards while pressing downwards. This pre-
vents pressure from being exerted on the retaining
plates.
• Only split logs that have been sawn off straight.
• Split the wood horizontally.
• Never split wood lying down or crosswise.
• Wear suitable gloves when splitting wood.
• Attention: Risk of injury! Do not remove jammed
wood with your hands, always knock it out
against the direction of splitting.
