Lifespan:
The maximal life of PPE that is predominantly textile is evaluated as being 5 years after the
date of manufacture
GENERAL INFORMATION CONCERNING USE:
The residual force due to the impact depends on the weight and the height of fall. The energy
absorber is manufactured so that the forces generated by the shock are less than the thresh-
olds, that is 6 kN.
The maximum length of an Automatic Retracting Fall Arrester is 2.70m, including all the kara-
biners, and it must not be lengthened.
The product can be used as temperatures included between -30°C and +60°C.
After a fall it is essential that the automatic retracting fall arrester no longer be used (tearing
of the absorber visible)
* HORIZONTAL USE (FALL ON EDGE POSSIBLE) :
Comply with the assembly direction described below
Attach the end (3) of the fall arrester (case side) to the anchorage point in compliance with
standard EN795.
3
Attach end (4) of the fall arrester (absorber side) to the back D link of the fall arrest harness
as per standard EN361.
4
Any other configuration is tolerated only for vertical use.
Allow for the fall factors:
Depending on the position of the anchorage points, a distinction is made between 3 fall fac-
tors:
At fall factor 0, the anchorage point is above the user.
At fall factor 1, the anchorage point is level with the shoulders of the user. (Height of fall < 1 x
working height)
At a fall factor 2, the anchorage point is at the feet of the user (Height of fall < 2 x working
height)
Work carried out with a fall factor of 2 is particularly dangerous and should be avoided, if pos-
sible choosing an anchorage point located higher up (see figure 2).
