The intense spice aromas can be absorbed by the millstones.
After grinding spices, it is recommended to grind rice.
Exchangable griNding stones
1.
Pull the plug.
2.
Turn the funnel anti-clockwise and take off the upper stone.
3.
Hold back the lower stone and loose the screw in the middle of the stone – with the help of an
4 mm allen wrench – by turning clockwise.
4.
Lift the upper (standing) stone by using the wire to pull it up and take it out of the grinding chamber.
5.
Whileinserting the silicone grinding chamber, push the outlet of the insert, as far as possible, into the
house/outlet. Then push the bottom of the green grinding chamber, from the front to the back, down
until the upper rim can rest. Both holes (on the right and on the left) have to be on top of each other.
6.
Then put the lower exchange grinding stone onto the motor shaft (align the slot in the middle of the
stone with the key at the motor shaft).
7.
Hold the stone and pull the screw/little block (pre-crusher) anti clockwise.
8.
Attach the upper exchange stone, screw the funnel onto the mill and adjust the required setting.

cleaning
Set the mill on „coarse" and switch it – without grain – on. Hold
the vacuum cleaner tube against the flour outlet and then against
the grinding chamber (take funnel off first). Take care of the
springs on the left and right of the grinding chamber.
Trouble-shooting
Simply rotate the grain funnel to the coarse setting (anti clockwise direction) until the motor starts.
Then adjust the stones again to the required setting.
This may be caused from overheating or due to improper usage – a built-in thermal cut-off switch stops the motor
to prevent serious damage. Unplug the power cord and allow the mill to cool down for 20-30 minutes. Then you
can plug it in again.
If the problem recurs there could be a different reason:
The mill was set too fine and there was still grain between the stones.
Please take off the funnel and the stone and check.
The ground material was too wet and has clogged the stones. Now there is only little output of flour.
Please use a coarser setting to grind the leftover grain in the mill. Then dry the rest of the
ground material before grinding again.
If the stones are clogged you can grind rice or wheat on a coarse setting to clean them.
Tips for use of grain
Grain must be stored in a dry, well ventilated and cool location. Ideally grain is stored in sacks
or in wooden boxes which are not sealed airtight.
Grain is hygroscopic, i.e. water is absorbed a damp atmosphere. If the grain is too wet
when it is ground, this might cause clogging of the millstones and/or blocking of the flour outlet.
The „knife test" has proven ideal in order to check whether the grain is dry enough before
it is ground. Dry grain bursts with a distinct cracking sound when trying the crush it on a hard
surface with a knife. Grain which is too wet can be pressed to flakes.
If the grain is too wet, place it for some days in a basket somewhere warm (on the heating for
example) or put it in the oven for 10-15 minutes at 50°C.
For cleaning, rough-grind approx.
50 g rice or wheat at the coarse setting.
