Troubleshooting
The appliance is not cooking
The appliance has probably not been left long enough to cool down - please refer to
the chapter on the safety shutdown. Check that the fuse in the plug is good and set
at 13 amps.
If you are using an extension cord, check that it is at least 10 amps and that it
is fully wound.
The appliance leaks steam from the pressure relief valve
The pressure relief valve is a special low-pressure valve and cannot be replaced by
any other valve. If steam is leaking from the valve, the most likely cause is a
blockage in the hose. Let the hose cool down, remove the hose and check for any
blockage. Always check the inlet in the tool you are using.
DO NOT FORCE THE VALVE CLOSED. THIS IS FOR YOUR SAFETY.
Descaling
To maintain the optimum performance of the appliance, especially in areas with hard
water, it may be necessary to descale the element inside the appliance. Special
descaling agents can be used for your appliance - always follow the manufacturer's
instructions.
Mains connection
Your appliance is supplied with a mains cable and an attached plug. This can be
identified by the fuse holder.
1. If the fitted plug is pulled out of the socket, the plug must be disposed of
safely. NEVER insert such a plug into a 13 amp socket.
2. NEVER use the appliance or power cord without the fuse cover in place. This
is the cap that is attached to the base of the plug to hold the fuse in place.
3. If you lose the fuse cover, contact an electrical dealer for a replacement or call
our helpline.
4. IF IN DOUBT, CONSULT AN ELECTRICIAN.
If you must attach a plug to the power cord, do so in accordance with the
wiring instructions below, and use a 13 amp fuse. If in doubt, consult an
electrician.
WARNING - THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED. If an extension cord is
used, it must be rated at least 10 amps and fully discharged. Do not use an
extension cord rated less than 10 amps, as this will cause premature failure of
the element, which is not covered by the warranty.
