Wi-Fi networks are not as reliable as wired networks also because they are prone to interference. This means that the transmitting
and receiving bandwidth is not guaranteed over time.
In a system which manages video signals, all interruptions and issues in communication correspond to delay and temporary loss
of video recordings.
The following precautions are essential to avoid malfunctions, minimising the risk of system interruptions and long losses of
video signal especially when the cameras are recorded by NVR / HVR via a Wi-Fi network:
Avoid installing Wi-Fi cameras in environments and situations where other wireless networks or wireless devices
proliferate.
The risk of interference and slowdowns in transmissions increases with the number of wireless devices (and
therefore wireless cameras) installed on the same system.
Install each Wi-Fi camera in a point in which the Wi-Fi signal strength shown on the camera webpage is higher than
70.
Install Wi-Fi cameras at least 1.5 metres apart from each other.
When an NVR / HVR device is used for recording, set a static IP address on each camera.
Install the CCTV devices on a separate Wi-Fi network with dedicated Access Point allowing full and appropriate
use of their Wi-Fi networks to users.
Assign an IP address to the camera's WLAN interface that is different from the camera's LAN address.
Do not assign the IP address 192.168.1.168 to any device.
In case of problems or delay in transmission, set moderate video streams on the NVR/HVR:
(e.g. not more than: Main= CBR, 10fps@1024Kbps, Sub= CBR, 5fps@384Kbps).
In case of recording on HVR / NVR it is advisable to disable the automatic daily restart on the cameras.
Check that the NVR / HVR devices and WiFi cameras run the most recent FW version available on the

website.
