EN
The device is designed to monitor closed rooms for the presence of smoke and alarm during a fire hazard. A photoelectric sensor in the device detects visible smoke from
the flameless initial stage of a fire. If a threat is detected, the sensor triggers an optical (LED) and acoustic alarm (beep with a volume of approx. 85 dB). The device is
mounted on ceilings of protected rooms.
Sensor OR-DC-609 is characterized by:
- battery power supply
- high quality optical sensor (photoelectric)
- audible alarm – volume approx. 85 dB
- visual alarm – red LED
- TEST button
- indication of battery consumption
PLACE OF INSTALLATION
In order to ensure maximum protection, smoke detectors should be installed in all fire endangered rooms, especially: rooms, bedrooms, corridors, basements, storage
rooms.
The minimum number of sensors is at least one per each floor located in the hallway near the stairwell and the bedroom.
When choosing the installation location, make sure that any possible sound alarm is clearly audible from other rooms in the building.
The most suitable installation location for a smoke alarm is between a bedroom and a room exposed to fire.
Ideally, the unit should be installed in the middle of the ceiling at a distance of 60 cm from each internal corner.
Do not install the device:
- near cookers, heaters, thermal baths, fluorescent light sources (e.g. fluorescent lamps);
- near windows, fans, air conditioners, radiators;
- at a distance of less than 0,9 m from premises with high humidity;
- in places exposed to dust;
- close to places where warm air accumulates (in roof bends, corners between ceiling and wall);
- in an inaccessible place.
METHOD OF INSTALLATION
1. Remove the mounting base by turning it counterclockwise.
2. Insert 1 9V battery into the device (type 6LR61)
3. Test the device by pressing and holding the TEST button until the beep sounds.
4. Install the device on the ceiling:
- drill 2 holes in the marked points,
- slide expander plugs in the wall,
- fasten the mounting base to the ceiling,
- position the sensor along the longitudinal holes on the mounting base,
- place the sensor on the base and then turn it clockwise to fit the base.
INSERTING/REPLACING BATTERIES
1. If the sensor has been mounted, remove it from the mounting screws
2. Remove the battery compartment cover on the back of the sensor by turning it anticlockwise (Fig. 2)
3. Insert 1x 9V battery (type 6F22) into the compartment, paying attention to the correct polarity (Fig. 3).
4. Replace the battery compartment cover and install the sensor.
TEST button – serves for testing the device.
1. Press and hold the TEST button until you hear a beep.
2. When testing, make sure that the sound is clearly audible from all bedrooms.
3. Never use open flames to test the device.
4. Do not place the device on your ears during the test, as this may cause hearing damage.
5. It is suggested to test the device periodically at least once a week, after each battery change and cleaning.
Battery replacement:
A low battery level is indicated by single beeps at intervals of approximately 30 to 40 seconds for approximately 30 days.
After each battery change, check the sensor for proper operation using the TEST button.
