Troubleshooting
Warning: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock or injury, unplug the steam iron from the
mains power supply before troubleshooting.
Problem
The steam iron does not
heat up.
There is no steam coming
from the steam iron.
Excess water is dripping
from the ceramic soleplate.
The steam iron hose makes
a buzzing sound.
The temperature indicator
light does not light up.
Possible Cause
- The steam iron is not connected
to the mains power supply.
- The temperature is set too low.
- The fuse has blown.
- There is not enough water in the
water tank.
- The pump is still drawing water
from the water tank.
This is condensation inside the
ceramic soleplate.
- The steam iron hose is tangled.
- The steam iron is higher than the
base unit.
- The fuse has blown.
- The steam iron is not connected
to the mains power supply.

Possible Solution
- Plug in the mains plug and
switch on the steam iron to the
main power supply.
- Increase the temperature
using the temperature
controller and make sure the
fabric care instructions are
followed.
- Replace the fuse with a fuse
of the same rating .
- Fill the water tank according
to the instructions in the
'Filling the water tank' section.
- Press and hold the steam
button for a while to let the
water pump into the steam
iron: This will take about 1
minute.
Allow the steam iron to heat
up to the selected temperature
before using the appliance.
- Untangle the steam iron hose.
- Make sure the steam iron is
used above the base unit.
- Replace the fuse by
professional person.
- Plug in the mains plug and
turn the temperature control
clockwise on the steam iron at
the mains power supply.
