OPERATION

You must check the proper functioning of your safe (opening and closing the door,
changing the numerical code on the safe lock if necessary) before setting it in concrete.
2.1

Opening the door

Safes with a double-bit key lock (door hinge right):
Insert the key and turn it clockwise as far as it will go, then turn the door handle fully clock-
wise and pull the door open.
For safes with left-hinged doors, the door handle must be turned anticlockwise when
opening to the left.
IMPORTANT: Please note that double-bit keys have two different sides (bits). When
inserting the key into the keyhole, the longer side must point towards the door handle.
Safes with an electronic code lock:
This code lock comes with its own operating instructions.
IMPORTANT: Please change the pre-set factory code and replace it with a personal code.
When changing the numerical code, the door must always be open. With the door open,
check whether the new numerical code works.
Safes with a mechanical combination lock:
This combination lock comes with its own operating instructions.
To change the factory code there is a hole in the door panel at the height of the lock, please
remove the cover cap from the hole and insert the changeover key into the combination
lock.
The door trim panel does not have to be removed!
IMPORTANT: Please change the pre-set factory code and replace it with a personal code.
When changing the numerical code, the door must always be open. With the door open,
check whether the new numerical code works.
2.2

Closing the door

Safes with a double-bit key lock (door hinge right):
Close the door firmly, turn the door handle anticlockwise all the way to the left and turn the
key anticlockwise to the left. Now pull the key out of the door.
For safes with left-hinged doors, the door handle must be turned clockwise when closing
to the right.
Important: Make sure that the door is properly locked.
Important: Your safe is equipped with a certified double-bit key lock with „forced locking".
The key can only be removed when the lock is locked.
Loss of key: (only with double-bit key lock version)
You will receive 2 double-bit keys as standard. If one or more keys are lost, the lock must
be replaced for security reasons, otherwise the insurance cover will expire. If you need an
additional key, please proceed according to the enclosed "Key Order" form.
For security reasons, replacement keys can generally only be made on presentation of an
original key.
Keep your keys in a safe place outside the safe. If the keys are lost, the safe must be
forcibly opened by a service technician.
