Control and V-belt tensioning

Loosen the screws and remove the belt guard to access the V-belt (1). The normal
slack should be approximately 10-15 mm when the belts are forcibly depressed in the
middle position between the two sheaves. If the V-belt is to be tightened, remove the
nut and washer (2).

The V-belt can now be tightened by adjusting the engine block in the groove (3). Use a
suitable tool, such as an iron bar as shown (4).
Replace the washer and nut and tighten securely. Then refit the belt guard.
