STARTING OPERATION

Main unit: Remove the battery compartment lid (B8) on the back of the device. Insert 3 new
batteries (type: 1.5 V, AAA) observing correct polarity.
Replace the batteries when the LC display shows the battery status indicator (A22).
Outdoor sensor: Remove the battery compartment cover on the backside of the device. Insert
2 new batteries(type: 1.5 V, AA) observing correct polarity. The function indicator (D5) lights up
briefly to confirm functionality.
Replace the batteries when the LC display shows the battery status indicator (A16).
As soon as the batteries have been inserted, the main unit begins searching for the radio signal from the
outdoor sensor and both devices will pair within the next 2 - 3 minutes. The clock then begins searching
for the radio time signal from the atomic clock in Frankfurt / Mainflingen. This will take approx. 3 to
10 minutes, provided there is no interference with the radio communication.
*
The date and time are automatically set when the radio signal is received (DCF77); the radio
signal icon will appear if the signal is received.
If the clock cannot receive the time signal, the radio signal icon (A15) does not light up. In this case you
may set the time manually.
If you do not want to use any other functions of the clock, the installation process is thereby
completed. Refer to the instructions below for further functions and features regarding the operation
of this device.
Information on synchronizing the radio clock signal:
Time and date are radio-controlled. The current time is synchronized to the radio signal from
Frankfurt, Germany (DCF77). DCF77 is a time signal and is normally emitted at the normal frequency
77.5 kHz as time information in coded form. The transmitting power is approx. 50 kW with a
broadcasted power of approx. 30 kW and coverage of approx. 1500 km in the vicinity of Frankfurt /
Main (Mainflingen). When you first start the clock, it will automatically search for the radio signal and
the radio signal icon starts flashing. If the radio receives the time signal, the symbol remains lit on the
display. A flashing symbol means the signal is being received.
