Safety Requirements
CAUTION:
Observe the safety requirements of
EN 50 083 -1
Equipotential bonding

3 3
The amplifier must be provided with equipotential
bonding by means of a mechanically stable
protective conductor with a minimum cross-

section of 4 mm
. A connection is provided at the
cross recess screw for equipotential bonding.
Safety requirements for remotely-fed

amplifiers (GPV 845 CF):
The remote power supply voltage between the
inner and outer conductors must not have an
effective value greater than 65 V.
The following conditions must be met:
• The remote supply must be restricted to the feed
line and must not be extended to the subscriber
cables. Insert the plug-in fuses such that there is
no supply voltage present at the amplifier output
(see p. 6, position 2), or use additional galvanic
isolation.
• Under no circumstances is the remote power
supply voltage to be accessible for members of
the public.
• Only use remote power supplies with isolation
protection in accordance with EN 60 065 or
EN 60 950!
For the installation at least one of the optional
•
following protective measures must be
provided:
Local equipotential bonding
An additional connection with earth potential
using a conductor of at least 4 mm
made at the PA-terminal of the unit, e.g. to an
on the site available PA-rail or to a local earth
electrode.
Or
Touch-guard
Operation in enclosed premises
The amplifier must be labelled with a warning
that when it is defective a power supply

potential can be present at its module frame.
(Hazard arrow and, e.g. "Contact hazard when
defective".) Provide cables leading directly to
the subscriber with a galvanically isolated
outer conductor isolation.
Or
Housing touch-guard
Operation in approved cabinets or with
approved insulating guards for each particular
type of amplifier. All connections must be
included in the touch-guard. Opening of
cabinets or guards only permissible using a
tool.
The amplifier must be labeled with a warning
that when it is defective a power supply
potential can be present at its module frame.
(Hazard arrow and, e.g. "Contact hazard when
defective".) Provide cables leading directly to
the subscriber with a galvanically isolated
outer conductor isolation.
Or
Limiting the max. remote-feeding voltage
The remote-feeding voltage of the system
must not exceed a max. of 50 VAC.
