Statistical calculations (STAT)
To start statistical calculations, perform the key operation MODE + 2 (STAT) to enter
STAT mode, and then use the screen that appears to select the type of calculations you
want to perform.

Data entry

Use the Stat editor to enter the data. To display the Stat Editor, perform the following
key operation SHIFT + 1 (STAT) + 2 (Data).
The stat editor provides 80 lines for embedded data if only column X is used, 40 lines
when columns X and FREQ are used, or columns X and Y, or 26 lines when columns X, Y,
and FREQ are used.
Use the FREQ column to enter the amount (frequency) of the same data items. The FREQ
column display can be turned on or off using the Stat format setting in the setup menu.
Important:
All data currently entered in the Stat editor is deleted each time you exit STAT mode,
switch between the calculation type of one variable and a pair variable or change the
Stat format setting in the settings menu.
The following operations are not supported by the Stat editor: M +, SHIFT + M + (M-),
SHIFT + RCL (STO). Pol, Rec, and multiple expressions also cannot be inserted using the
Stat editor.
To change data in a cell: In the Stat Editor, move the cursor to the cell that contains the
data you want to change, insert the new data, and then press =.
To delete a line: In the Stat Editor, move the cursor to the line you want to delete and
then press DEL.
To insert a line: In the Stat Editor, move the cursor to a line where you want to insert,
and then perform a key operation: SHIFT + 1 (STAT) + 3 (Edit) +1 (Ins).
Delete all contents of the Stat editor: Perform a key operation: SHIFT + 1 (STAT) + 3
(Edit) + 2 (Del-A).
Obtaining statistical values from input data
To obtain statistical values in the Stat editor, press AC and call up the statistical variable
you require.
