• When filling the lower part with water, always ensure that the water
level never reaches the safety valve. The valve must never be
submerged in water, as this will lead to lime scale forming and
consequently impair both the functionality of the valve and impair
safety.
• When opening the safety valve, it is possible that hot steam will gush
out. Always ensure that the valve is never pointed at the user.
• Always ensure that the espresso maker has been properly assembled
and closed tight before use.
• Do not unscrew the espresso maker until it has been removed from
the hot plate and has cooled down. Do not open the lid until the
bubbling has stopped.
• Never use the espresso maker without first pouring water into the
lower part. Remove the espresso maker from the heat source imme-
diately as soon as the espresso has flowed into the upper part.
• Never allow the espresso maker to boil dry. This can damage the
structure of the metal and compromise your safety the next time the
espresso maker is used.
• Only use the espresso maker on the types of heat sources stated on
the packaging. Gas cookers: Always ensure that the flame does not
rise up the sides of the espresso maker. Induction cookers: Where at
all possible, always ensure that the diameter of the hot plate matches
that of the espresso maker, as otherwise the pot recognition feature
on certain cookers will fail to activate and the hot plate will not switch
on.
• Only use 100% espresso coffee powder which has not been ground
too fine. Coffee substitutes or coffee extracts contain sticky
