Introduction
Dear Customer,
Thank you for choosing Schüco Solar products and for the
trust you have placed in our company.
Prior to your first installation, we recommend that you attend
a training course at one of our training centers or, if this is not
possible, that you arrange for on-site training from one of our
service engineers.
Please observe the information in these installation and
operating instructions.
Note the following regarding laws, regulations and
technical rules
When setting up solar energy installations, the laws and
regulations at local, state, national and international level that
apply to the installation location must be observed.
Generally acknowledged technical regulations apply. These
are usually in the form of standards, guidelines, provisions,
regulations and technical rules laid down by local and national
bodies, energy supply companies, trade organizations and
technical committees in the relevant fields.
When installing solar units/solar thermal systems,
requirements concerning roofing, roof sealing or cladding
of external walls must be taken into account as specified
in the regulations of the German Roofing Association or
the appropriate national and international standards and
guidelines. Where installation has been retrospective,
structural integrity, thermal insulation and ageing behaviour
must be tested.
To meet regulations for the prevention of accidents, it may
be necessary to use safety equipment (straps, scaffolding,
supports, etc.). Such safety equipment is not supplied and
must be ordered separately.
Training and qualification of installers
Schüco assumes that installation will only be carried out
by technically qualified and authorised personnel with a
recognized qualification (verified by a state or national body) in
the relevant technical area.
Product description: Schüco PV modules
Schüco MPE modules generate electricity as soon as they
are exposed to light. The electrical contacts are therefore
always "live". A single module lies below the protective low
voltage threshold, but several modules connected in series or
parallel may represent a danger. When installing the modules,
please observe all the installation instructions for the system
assemblies and components.
Schüco shall not be liable for any damage which arises from a
failure to adhere to these instructions.

Correct usage
The Schüco MPE modules are designed for use as stationary
generators of electricity, or on tracking systems for photovoltaic
systems.
Alternative use or use beyond the systems limits is not in
accordance with its purpose. Incorrect usage can result in
serious injury or death to the user or a third party and may
harm the device or system and other material assets. The
manufacturer/supplier shall not be liable for any damage
arising from such misuse. The risk will be the responsibility of
the user alone.
Correct usage also includes adhering to the installation and
operating instructions.
CE marking
The CE marking documents and the module label must meet
the basic requirements of the following relevant guidelines:
- EN 61730-1 (2007)
- EN 61730-2 (2007)
- Low voltage guideline 2006/95/EG
The modules are designed for use in application class A:
Hazardous Voltage (IEC 61730: Greater 50V DC; EN 61730:
Greater 120V DC); Installation with hazardous power, where
unlimited access can be expected generally (modules which
are qualified in this application class in accordance to EN
IEC 61730-1 and -2 are expected to fulfill the requirements of
Safety Class II).
To ensure correct and reliable operation of this device, it must
be transported, stored, set-up and installed correctly, as well
as operated and maintained carefully. When this device is
operational, certain components are subject to high voltage
which can cause serious injury or death.
The handling instructions must be observed to minimize the
risk of death or injury.
