INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Aspirating Dental Injection Syringe
1. Insertion of dental cartridge
Gently retract handle of syringe until interior plunger cylinder moves to or below opening of cartridge window. Place dental cartridge into the syringe.
Release handle to lock in cartridge.
2. Setting harpoon
Push forward on the plunger handle to set the harpoon. It is easier to set the harpoon before attaching a needle.
3. Attaching dental needle
Attach dental needle by threading onto the hub of the dental syringe. Continue threading until needle hub contacts syringe hub.
4. Aspiration of needle
Remove needle cap and release a small amount of solution to verify the needle is clear. To aspirate, gently pull back on the thrumb ring.
Aspiration should be done after placement of needle in the mouth and during the injection.
5. Removing dental cartridge
Always cover needle before changing cartridges or for final disposal of needle and dental cartridge. To remove cartridge, pull syringe handle down until
harpoon disengages from cartridge stopper. Then, turn syringe over and remove cartridge.
Self-aspirating Dental Injection Syringe
1. Attaching Dental Needle
Attach dental needle by threading onto the hub of the dental syringe. Continue threading until needle hub contacts syringe hub.
2. Insertion of Dental Cartridge
Insert a cartridge rear end first to avoid off-center perforation. Centric membrane puncture prevents risk of leakage during injection.
3. Push Cartridge Forward immediately before injection to let needle perforate the membrane. If the syringe is left loaded before or during treatment,
the cartridge should be pushed from contact with the needle to avoid contaminating the solution with metal ions.
4. Aspiration of Syringe
Aspiration is accomplished by applying and immediately releasing a gentle pressure on the piston.
5. Removing Dental Cartridge
Always cover needle before changing cartridges or for final disposal of needle and dental cartridge.
To unload the syringe slide back the cartridge from the needle, invert the syringe and remove the cartridge.
Sterilization and Reprocessing Instructions:
WARNINGS: Clean and sterilize the syringe before the first use, and after every use.
Limitations on reprocessing
Do not use detergents or disinfectants containing acid or alkaline additives. Sterility of the syringe could be impaired without the removal of bio-
materials before each autoclave cycle . Do not exceed 200 °C. Repeated processing has minimal effect on these syringes.
End of life is normally determined by wear and damage due to use.
INSTRUCTIONS
Point of use
Before each autoclave cycle.
Containment and transportation
The syringe should be wrapped in medical grade packaging material (wrapper, bag, pouch). In circumstances where the syringe is processed at the
point of immediate use, packaging may not be necessary or suitable for the sterilization process. It is recommended that instruments be reprocessed as
soon as reasonably practical following use.
Preparation for cleaning
By employing manual immersion techniques, or cleaning by automatic equipment.
Proper maintenance and sterilization of stainless steel instruments
After each use, remove all traces of blood and saliva by brushing and washing. Then rinse and dry the syringe. The most gentle method of mechanical
cleaning consists of using completely demineralized water and a mild cleaning agent with a neutral pH-value.
Sterilize in autoclave between 134°C and 138°C (max 200°C) for the duration of the machine cycle (cycles may vary according to the regulations and/or
the law in force in the country involved). When needed, lubricate the piston with instrument silicone oil. After sterilization, store the syringe in a sterile
and dry place.
Cleaning: Manual
Remove all traces of blood and saliva by brushing and washing the syringe.
To minimize risk to personnel undertaking manual cleaning, splashing and creation of aerosols must be avoided at all times.
a) Fill a clean sink (not hand wash basin) with water and detergent, in accordance with manufacturer's instructions.
b) Brush, wipe, agitate, jet wash, or hand spray the item to dislodge and remove all visible soil; keep the syringe under the surface at all times.
c) Remove the syringe from the sink and drain any excess detergent prior to placing in a second sink to rinse in clean water.
d) Rinse the syringe thoroughly with clean water or jet wash gun under the surface of the water.
e) Remove and drain the syringe before drying using your preferred method.
Use thermodesinfector systems to clean these syringes.
Guarantee
Syringes are guaranteed against manufacturing or workmanship defects for 5 years.
Damages due to improper handling or care are not covered.
For professional use only in the practice of dentistry.
