IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
• Read the operating manual instructions carefully before using the cooktop. In this way,
you can ensure that the appliance is used safely and properly.
• It is recommended to check the appliance's control panel operation if the cooktop has been
installed near a radio receiver, a TV set, or another field emitter.
• Be certain your appliance is properly installed and grounded by a qualified technician in
accordance with national and local safety regulations.
• The cooktop must not be installed adjacently with freezing appliances.
• The furniture into which the cooktop is fitted must be heat resistant to 100°C. This requ-
irement is valid for laminate, edges, plastic surfaces, adhesives, and paint.
• Do not turn on the cooktop before the installation is complete. Otherwise live parts may
remain exposed – danger of electric shock.
• Repairs should only be performed by qualified technicians to ensure safety. Repairs and
other work by unqualified persons could be dangerous.
• The cooktop is considered disconnected from the mains provided the power cord is unplug-
ged, of fuse is triggered to break the circuit.
• Make sure the power plug is accessible after the installation of the cooktop is complete.
• Never allow children to remain unattended near the cooktop nor to play with the control
panel.
• Burners heat up rapidly. Thus, they should not be turned on before a pot or pan is placed
on them. This way significant quantities of power are saved.
• The in-build residual heat indicator shows whether the burner is on, or if it is still hot.
• All the settings and indications will be cancelled if there is a power cut. It is recommended
to take caution after the power supply is restored, as the burners which had heated before
the power cut are not controlled by the residual heat indicator.
• If the mains socket is located near the appliance, make sure the power cord does not
become in contact with the hot areas.
• Never leave a cooktop unattended at high settings or when cooking with oil or fat. Over-
heated oil could ignite.
• Do not use pots made of plastic of aluminium foil. They melt at high temperatures, and
may pit or crack the ceramic surface.
• Some substances, e.g. sugar, citric acid, salt, etc., either solid or liquid, must not become
in contact with hot surface of the cooktop.
• Should any of the above substances spill over the cooktop, the appliance must not be
turned off. Remove the substances with a shard scratcher. Execute caution not to burn or
cut your hands.
• Select cookware with flat bottoms when using the cooktop. The pans and pots must be
free of sharp edges etc. – risk of scratching the cooktop surface.
• Cooktop surface is thermal shock resistant. It is not vulnerable to excessive cold nor
heat.
• Do not drop anything on the ceramic surface of the cooktop. Even lightweight objects, such
as spices container, may cause damage.
