Tool position
Turn the guide (G) to adjust the tool to the position of the
workpiece. To do this, loosen the bolt (H) (right-hand
thread), engage the guide and then retighten the bolt (see
fig. 4).

Tool change

Before changing the tool, disconnect the
machine from the compressed air supply
Loosen/tighten the setscrew using the enclosed hexagon
setscrew spanner (I).

Never leave spanners or wrenches
attached to the tool! Before starting the
machine, check that all spanners and
wrenches have been removed!

Maintenance

Maintenance unit

The air supplied by a compressed air system is generally
contaminated and contains a considerable amount of
moisture. Therefore, a maintenance unit must be installed
between the compressed air supply system and the
pneumatic file.
The maintenance unit regulates the operating pressure
and filters and dries the air. It also ensures that the
compressed air tool is properly lubricated. The usability
and service life of your tools is thus considerably
increased.
For suitable maintenance units, please refer to our
catalogue.
To ensure proper functioning of the BIAX pneumatic
straight file, regularly inspect the maintenance unit. Drain
off any condensate and fill the unit with BIAX special oil, if
necessary.
Testing of stroke rate
Every 20 operating hours, measure the stroke rate of the
file.
At an operating pressure of 6 bar, the nominal stroke rate
may not be exceeded when the machine is operated
without tool.
