2. SETUP

The playing fi eld results from a fi xed distance between the boards. The
distance is 8 m from lower edge to lower edge (see following fi gure). To the
right and left of the boards are the throwing zones for teams 1 and 2 during
'doubles' and players 1 and 2 during 'singles' . When throwing, the player must
always be behind the line formed by the front edge of the board. Otherwise
the throw is invalid.
This setup is played in offi cial tournaments. If the space does not allow it or if
the distances are too large for the throws, it is up to everyone to shorten the
distances as they see fi t.

3. THE GAMEPLAY

As already described, a distinction is made between a 'set' and a 'round' . The
end of a set is reached as soon as a team/player has scored a total of 21 or
more points (see section: 'The Scoring System'). As a rule, the tournament is
played in a 'best-of-three' mode. This means that a team/player has won the
match as soon as two of a maximum of three sets to be played have been won.
Example: So if a team/player wins the fi rst and second set out of a total of three sets,
the match is already won after the second set.
Each team decides on the colour of the bags before the start of the game.
