SPECIFIC INFORMATION

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE – RETEXO
Summary
CAMP Retexo are energy absorbers conforming to standard EN 355:2002 and according to the method PPE-R/11.074
V1. Various models and standard versions are available, shown in tab.A. Other special connector combinations and
special lengths are available and the relative data are provided on the product marking. This product is intended for
use in a fall arrest system to protect against the risk of falls from a height.
EN 355 Vertical Use
). It is calculated
using the following equation: Fall Factor = Height of Fall / Length of Lanyard. In situations where the Fall Factor will
be 0 (e.g. the worker is positioned under the anchor point on a tensioned lanyard) or in situations where the Fall
Factor is 1 positioning equipment is adequate. Fall arrest equipment must be used for other situations where the Fall
Factor is same or greater than 1, for example Retexo. The harness attachment loop [4] must be only connected to
one sternum or dorsal connection point of an EN 361 full body harness (
): do not connect Retexo to an EN 358
work-positioning belt attachment point (
) or to the attachment point for an EN 813 sit harness (
). Do not
connect Retexo to the gear loops or other components of the harness: danger of death! (
) The anchoring point
attachment loop [5] must be connected to the structural anchor point which must be preferentially located above the
work area and must comply with the EN 795 standard and/or must have a known resistance of 12 kN (metal anchors)
or 18 kN (fabric anchors). For short connections, it is possible to connect using the anchoring point attachment loop
[5] of the energy absorber [1]. All the connectors used must comply with EN 362. Always check that the connectors
), that the lever closes (
). Refer to
the instruction manual for all the components for use with Retexo to check for compatibility. The maximum length
of the system composed by energy absorber + EN 354 lanyard + EN 362 connector must not exceed 2 m (
):
never insert other elements that increase the length beyond this limit (
). The maximum user weight (including
equipment and tools) is indicated in tab.A and on the product marking.Avoid connections that can compromise the
energy absorption or the product resistance (
).With reference to
, exactly calculate the clearance distanced
in limited height situations.
Clearance under the user's feet, Hf. Use the Hf data for the general calculations relative to the walking
surface.
Supplies the absorber extension data (distance B).
PPE-R/11.074 V1 Horizontal use
Retexo have successfully passed the tests for horizontal use over sharp edges with radius 0.5 mm (PPE-R/11.074
V1). They can therefore be used on horizontal and sloping structures where the edges have radius >=0.5 mm; always
take account that use over sharp edges has additional risks and should therefore be limited as much as possible.
The maximum user weight (including equipment and tools) for horizontal use on sharp edge is indicated in tab.A
and on the product marking. For horizontal use (
), you must take the following precautions, in addition to those
shown in the previous paragraphs:
device anchor point and perpendicular to the edge (
). In other cases, no individual anchors should be used
