OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
NOTICE
Before putting a new appliance into operation, you should wipe it thoroughly from the outside with a damp cloth and
wash the crumb tray in warm water for hygienic reasons. Do not insert any bread into the appliance, set the longest
toasting time (toasting level regulator at position 6), and turn on the appliance (see the Bread toasting section). Repeat
this process five times. The appliance may emit a slight odour and smoke during the first operation. It will disappear after
a while. Make sure that the room is ventilated properly during this process.
Bread toasting
1. Unfold the power cord completely.
2. Connect the appliance plug to the mains.
3. Insert two slices of bread or other pastry for toasting into the slots (1).
4. Set the required toasting time using the regulator (3). Positions 1 - 6 correspond to the required toasting level (1 =
lightest, 6 = darkest). The toasting time should be set according to the user's personal preference and the type and
freshness of the bread used. If you are using the appliance for the first time, we recommend selecting position 3 or 4.
5. Lower the bread into the toasting slots by pressing the lever (2) downwards until it is completely inserted and remains
in this position. The appliance turns on.
Note: If the appliance is not connected to the mains, the lowering lever will not remain in the lower position.
6. The finished toasts are automatically ejected at the end of the set toasting time.
7. If you want to stop toasting before the selected time elapses, press the Cancel button (6).
Note: If you want to continue toasting after finishing, lower the bread into the toasting slots again by pressing the
lever (2) downwards. After switching on, press the Reheat button (5). If you want to use frozen bread, lower it into the
toasting slots by pressing the lever (2) downwards. After switching on, press the Defrost button (4).
8. Unplug the appliance from the mains after you finish toasting.
Caution!
The food inside the appliance may ignite if the appliance is not set or used properly. Never leave the appliance
unattended while in use, to be able to turn it off immediately, if needed.
The appliance is hot during operation and for some time after switching off. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles and
buttons.
Appliance storage:
After use, unplug the appliance, let it cool down and store it in a safe and dry place. The power cord can be wound on
a holder on the bottom of the appliance.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Caution!
Before each cleaning of the appliance, unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet! Make sure the appliance has
cooled before handling it!
To clean the surface of the appliance, use only a damp cloth, no detergents or hard objects, as they can damage the
surface of the appliance!
Remove the crumb tray, empty it, and install it back into the appliance before next toasting operation. Do not let crumbs
accumulate in the lower section of the appliance.
If crumbs remain inside the appliance, turn the appliance upside down and remove crumbs by slight knocking.
Never clean the appliance under running water, do not rinse it or immerse it in water!
