GETTING STARTED
USB operation
The Limetree NETWORK can play music
USB
from USB storage media. For this purpose
the device is equipped with a USB host connector on the rear side.
The USB memory can be formatted in one of the following file
systems: FAT16, FAT32, NTFS, ext2, ext3 or ext4. The USB storage
medium can also be fed via the USB connector of the Limetree
NETWORK, provided the current draw of the device does not ex-
ceed 1.5 A. Thus standard 2.5" USB harddisks can be connected
directly without the need for a separate power supply. The USB
host port may also be used for charging smartphones.
Using the Limetree NETWORK as a CD player
By connecting a CD-ROM drive (e.g. Apple USB SuperDrive), you
can turn your Limetree NETWORK into a top-class CD player. The
connected drive is recognized and the CD will be read. In the app
an icon for the CD drive will open. There you can start the play-
back. Now the playback can be controlled via the LINDEMANN app
or with the supplied remote.
The music data from the CD will first be buffered, then streamed
and finally converted by the high-quality D/A converter into an
analog signal as in every CD player. The difference: by buffer-
ing plus jitter elimination, sonic results can be obtained that
are far superior to those of conventional CD players
according to the "Redbook standard".

