3.1
Safety instructions

Observe all instructions; incorrect installation can result in serious injuries.
NOTE

The original language of this document is German. All other languages are
translations.
Use The induction loop detector VEK MNST3/VEK MNST4 only with
controllers from FEIG ELECTRONIC GmbH!
Read the installation manual of the used controller and be sure to observe the
safety instructions for the controller.
These installation instructions must be available to the service personnel at all
times.
The installation and replacement of accessories may only be carried out by
qualified personnel.
The manufacturer has carefully checked the device hardware and software as
well as the product documentation. Mistakes cannot be avoided completely
and we will always gratefully accept any information in this respect.
The device may not be used as a safety component as defined by the
Machinery Directive, the Construction Products Regulation or other safety
regulations. Systems posing a threat of danger require additional safety
equipment.
Impermissible alterations and the use of spare parts and additional devices not
sold or recommended by the device manufacturer can result in fire, electric
shocks and injury. Such measures result in abrogation of the liability and void
the manufacturer guarantee.
The device is subject to the manufacturer's guarantee conditions valid at the
time of purchase. The manufacturer will not accept any responsibility for
incorrect manual parameter settings performed on a device or the unsuitable
use of a device.
Repairs may only be performed by the manufacturer.
Users of devices which come into contact with electrical voltage are required to
comply with the valid VDE regulations. In particular, however, without claim to
completeness, these are: VDE 0100, VDE 0550/0551, EN 60335 (VDE 0700),
EN 60065 (VDE 0860), EN 50110 (VDE 0105) as well as the fire and accident
prevention regulations DGUV.
Work performed on the device and in conjunction with its setup must be
conducted in accordance with the specifications of the national electrical
regulations and local regulations.
The use of the device is responsible for ensuring that it has been setup and
connected in accordance with the accepted national and local technical
regulations applicable in the land of use. Especial attention is to be paid to the
dimensioning of cables, fusing, earthing, cut-off, separation, isolation
monitoring and over-current protection.

3.3
Product specification
The VEK MNST3/VEK MNST4 is an accessory of the company
FEIG ELECTRONIC GmbH with the following characteristics:
Galvanic separation between loop and detector electronics.
Automatic calibration of the system after activation.
Sensitivity adjustment independent of the loop inductance via the controller.
Occupied notification by LED display via the controller.
Loop fault notification by LED display via the controller.
Signalling of historical loop fault notification via the controller.
Continual adjustment of frequency drift from environmental influences.
Diagnosis with external service programme via USB mini bushing.
RS485 interface for configuration and communication with the controller.
Evaluation of up to 4 inductive loops.
No interaction of loops 1-4 due to Multiplex procedure.
3.3.1 Intended use
The inductive loop detector VEK MNST3/VEK MNST4 channel is a system for the
inductive detection of vehicles. It can evaluate up to 4 inductive loops:
VEK MNST3 for evaluation of three inductive loops.
VEK MNST4 for evaluation of four inductive loops.
Operation is only permitted with the following controllers:

TST FU3F-A,-C, -F Series
TST FU3H-FU Series
