Assembly Instructions
Assembly steps
1. Adjusting the lock shaft
2. Connecting the lock shaft
to the input unit
3. Assembly of the whole input
unit on the outer surface of the safe door
4. Assembly of the electromechanical locking module in the safe door
5. Establishing the electrical connection between input unit and the locking
module electronics
Adjusting the lock shaft
The lock shaft (6) is intended for the mechanical coupling of the input unit (10)
with the electromechanical locking module (1).
If this lock shaft has not been ordered from the manufacturer in the exact
length required, it must be adjusted afterwards to the required length. A pin
hole must also be drilled.
The „Tool for drilling and cutting shafts for electronic locks" can be used to
simplify this step.
Alternatively, the shaft can be cut to
length and drilled according to the
instructions in the diagram on the
right. Determine the constructive
wall thickness T of the safe door
as the distance between the two
mounting surfaces from the input
unit and the inner locking module.
Add a value of 52.4 mm to this. Now
shorten the enclosed lock shaft from
the round end to this calculated
total length.
Then drill the pin hole with a
diameter of 3.05 mm at a distance
of 3 mm from the end of the shaft.
Ensure that the hole axis is parallel
to the key flats of the lock shaft.
Deburring or slight chamfering the
pin hole makes the subsequent
shaft assembly process easier. A dis-
tance greater than 3 mm will later
lead to assembly problems.

Connecting the lock shaft to the input unit
The lock shaft (6) is connected to the input unit (10) using the enclosed
locking pin (12) (ø3 mm).
The illustration shown here depicts the input unit in „locked" position,
the actuating lever is located between the „5" and the „0" on the keypad.
The lock shaft with a suitable hole is required, depending on whether the
electromechanical locking module (1) is installed vertically or horizontally.
Fitting the lock shaft
Insert the lock shaft (6) into the input unit (10). Make sure that the hole is parallel
to the channel for the locking pin. Insert the locking pin (12) into the pin channel.
Then check that the dimension P is between 31 mm and 33 mm. If the dimension
is less than 31.5 mm, the locking pin must be pushed deeper into the pin channel.
The enclosed TX8 screwdriver can be used as an assembling aid for the locking
pin.
The base plate can be opened by removing the three screws (TX8) in excep-
tional cases where the inside of the input unit (10) must be accessed. The
operating unit can then be separated. The part with the keypad can be lifted
carefully and then folded up around the upper edge of the operating unit. Do
not pull on the cables. Now the locking pin (12) can once again be pushed out
of the lock shaft.
Assembly of the whole input unit on the outer surface
of the safe door
The input unit is fitted to the flat front of the safe door from the outside. To do
this, as shown in the drilling diagram on top, the two M4 screws supplied are
screwed into two opposite of the six M4 threaded holes until they stop.
The screw heads only serve to position the input unit on the safe door surface.
Alternatively, two pan head screws with an inch thread #8-32 (head diameter
is 8 mm / 0.31") can be used.
The maximum permissible door opening for the shafts and for the cable entry is
shown in the illustration on top of the page. Any direction is possible. However,
the actual break-through contour must not exceed the specified contour.
The inner and outer openings of the breakthrough must not have any burrs or
sharp edges in order to protect the cable (13). The input unit (10) can now be
inserted into the breakthrough with the shaft (6) and the cable (13). It is only
attached to the two screw heads. The keyboard cable runs parallel to the shaft.
Avoid twisting the cable repeatedly next to the shaft. The adhesive points (15)
can be used as a mounting aid. Remove the cover foil of the adhesive points.
After the input unit is plugged in, the adhesive points (15) temporarily hold
the input unit in the mounting position and hands are free for the subsequent
mounting of the locking module on the inside of the safe door.
