    Wir gratulieren Dir zum Kauf Deines neuen skywalk TONIC und möchten uns für Dein Ver- trauen bedanken. Wir sind sicher, dass Du jede Flugminute mit Deinem skywalk TONIC ge- nießen wirst. Damit Du Dich von Anfang an mit Deinem neuen Schirm wohl fühlst, emp- fehlen wir Dir, diese Betriebsanleitung aufmerksam zu lesen.

    Zertifizierung verlassen. Um den Kompromiss aus geringem Gewicht und Haltbarkeit umsetzen zu können, kam beim TONIC ein neues Tuch von DOMINICO 20 DMF in Kombination mit einem einfachen Aufbau zum Einsatz. Natürlich ist auch der TONIC mit der wegweisenden JET FLAP Technologie ausgestattet.

    TONIC eine aufwendige Mischung aus Liros Dyneema und Tecnora Leinen zum Einsatz. Der skywalk TONIC verfügt über 3 A-, 3 B- sowie 3 C- und 1 Stabiloleine. Die Topleinen der letzten Zelle hängen, zusammen mit den Stabilo Topleinen auf der Haupststabilo- leine, die direkt auf den B-Gurt geht.

    Jeder Pilot trägt die Verantwortung für seine eigene Sicherheit selbst und muss dafür Sorge tragen, dass sein Luftfahrzeug (Gleitschirm) vor jedem Start auf seine Lufttüch- tigkeit überprüft und ordnungsgemäß gewartet wurde. Der skywalk TONIC darf nur unter Einhaltung der gesetzlichen Bestimmungen der jeweiligen Länder geflogen werden.

    BeschleUnIGersYsteM Der skywalk TONIC kann mit einem Fuß-Beschleunigungssystem ausgerüstet werden. Das Beschleunigungssystem wirkt auf die A- und B- Tragegurte. Genaue Angaben auf der Tra- gegurtzeichnung. An den meisten handelsüblichen Gurtzeugen sind Rollen für das Beschleunigungssystem ange- bracht.   • Seite 9 Wird das Trimmerband bei entfernter Sicherheitsnaht „nicht“ im Hauptkarabiner einge- hängt, hat der TONIC keine Zulassung nach LTF / EN. Hauptaufhängung + Trimmerband im Hauptkarabi- ner. Sobald das Trimmerband mit eingehängt wird, hat der Pilot wieder innerhalb der DHV Startge- wichtsgrenzen in LTF / EN die Zulassung.

    Flüge an einem Übungshang zu machen. Dadurch kannst Du Dich mit Deinem sky- walk TONIC vertraut machen. Die Kappe legst Du am besten so aus, dass die Eintritts- kante leicht bogenförmig liegt und die Kappenmitte den höchsten Punkt des Gleitschirms bildet.

    Fliegt man ihn im oberen Gewichtsbereich dann ist die Abhebegeschwindigkeit spürbar höher als bei einem Gleitschirm in Normalgröße. Auch der TONIC ist mit dem innovativen JET FLAP System ausgerüstet. Die Luft wird vom Untersegel (Druckbereich) aufs Obersegel (Sogbereich) geleitet und dort ausgeblasen.

    Gleitschirm stabilisieren und wieder öffnen. Die landung: Der skywalk TONIC ist einfach zu landen, erfordert aber aufgrund der höheren Flug- und somit auch Landegeschwindigkeit ein angepasstes Timing des Piloten.     Die Steilspirale kannst Du durch vorsichtiges Erhöhen des Bremsleinenzugs und deutlicher Gewichtsverlagerung zur Kurveninnenseite einleiten. Aufgrund der hohen Flächenbelastung ist die Einleitung der Steilspirale mit dem TONIC sehr einfach. Die Schräglage und die Sink- geschwindigkeit kontrollierst Du durch dosiertes Ziehen bzw. Nachlassen der kurveninneren Bremsleine.

    B-leinen stall: Der B-LeinenStall wurde von uns aus der Zulassung ausgeschlossen. Der TONIC ist ein sehr agiler Schirm mit hohem Trimmspeed und Höhe kann sehr leicht durch Spiralen, steile Kurven oder Ohrenanlegen in Verbindung mit Benützung des Be- schleunigers abgebaut werden, somit ist der B-Stall beim TONIC kein geeignetes Manöver um effektiv Höhe abzubauen.

    Bei starken Turbulenzen sind Einklapper nicht auszuschließen. In der Regel öffnet der sky- walk TONIC selbständig. Das Wegdrehen einseitig kollabierter Tragflächen kann durch An- bremsen der offenen Flügelhälfte minimiert werden. Bei stark kollabierten Flächen musst Du gefühlvoll Gegenbremsen, um einen Strömungsabriss zu vermeiden.

Ein sorgfältig behandelter Gleitschirm wird viel mehr Flugstunden Freude berei- ten als ein Schirm, der nach Gebrauch lieblos in seinen Packsack gestopft wird. Vergiss nicht, Dein Leben hängt an ihm.

    Gleichgewicht von Natur und Tier zu erhalten und respektieren. Materialverschleiss: Der skywalk TONIC besteht hauptsächlich aus Nylon-Tuch, das unter dem Einfluss von UV-Strahlen an Festigkeit verliert und luftdurchlässig wird. Den Gleitschirm solltest Du erst kurz vor dem Start auslegen bzw. unmittelbar nach der Landung wieder einpacken, um ihn vor unnötiger Sonnenbestrahlung zu schützen.

    Liros lines in the TONIC. The skywalk TONIC is equipped with 3 A-, 3 B- as well as 3 C and 1 stabilo line. The top lines of the last cell together with the stabilo top lines attach to the main stabilo line, which lead directly to the B-riser.

    Each pilot is responsible for their own safety and must ensure that their aircraft (paraglider) has been checked and serviced for its airworthiness before launching. You can only fly your skywalk TONIC with a valid flying license and in accordance with local rules and regulations.

    The skywalk TONIC can be equipped with a foot-operated speed system. The Speed Sys- tem works on the A- and B-riser. Exact specifications can be found on the riser illustra- tion. Installing the accelerator equipment: Most standard harnesses have pulleys attached for the speed system.

    This way you are able to get used to the skywalk TONIC. Lay out the canopy so that the leading edge is slightly bowed and the middle of the canopy represents the highest point.
  • Seite 39 The skywalk TONIC is very easy to launch. It has no tendency to get stuck and does not demand any special knowledge outside of the standard paragliding techniques. If you fly in the upper weight range, the speed of lift-off will be noticeably higher than that of a normal-sized wing.
  • Seite 40 The TONIC is equipped with a turbulence-damping profile, which in combination with the high wing load provides a high resistance against collapses.
  • Seite 41 The skywalk TONIC can be landed easily but the pilot must adjust accordingly for the higher flight and landing speed. Make your final approach against the wind and let the glider slow down. Further reduce the speed by applying the brakes lightly and evenly. At about 1m above the ground you increase the angle of attack by slowing down more and eventually completely flare out the glider.

    Because of the higher wing load, entering a spiral dive with the TONIC is simple. Bank and sink speed can be controlled by dosed pulling or release of the brake line on the inside of the curve.

    FlIGht ManeUvers asymmetric collapse: In strong turbulence, a collapse cannot be excluded. As a rule, the skywalk TONIC opens automatically. The rotation towards the collapsed wing section can be minimized by braking on the open side of the canopy. In case of a big collapse you will have to brake with caution in order to avoid a stall.
  • Seite 44 The canopy will suddenly tip back. Despite this violent reaction, keep holding the brakes down until the wing stabilizes. The skywalk TONIC flies backwards in full stall and usually forms a forward rosette. This rosette will form if the full stall is entered slow- ly.
  • Seite 45 > If the pilot inadvertently enters negative spin and exits it immediately, the skywalk TONIC will return to normal flight without any major sink. The brake which was pulled too far comes back until the airflow has contact again with the inner wing. Prolonged nega- tive spin causes the canopy to shoot too far to one side.

    Any kind of friction or washing will lead to the accelerated aging process of your glider. The sail cloth of the skywalk TONIC is maximally soil-resistant. If you still think that your paraglider needs to be cleaned, then use a soft and wet towel or sponge. Don’t use any soap or detergents.

    The lines of the skywalk TONIC are made from Dyneema or Tecnora cores with a polyester cover. Avoid overloading single lines, since overstretching is irreversible. Continuous bend- ing of the lines at the same spot decreases the strength, even if only slightly. All visible line damage, even if it is only damage to the line cover, requires replacement of the line.
