INSTRUCTIONS
PASSENGERS COACH
Photo 1. Before going ahead with the assembly, first of all you will need to correctly identify the parts.
To this end use the IP list, which can be found in the final pages of this manual. Lightly number the
different parts using a pencil.
Photo 2. These parts are attached to the sheets by means of small ribs. Use a cutter to separate them
from their original support sheet and then, using fine grain sandpaper, sand down the edges to eliminate
any rough edges, leaving the parts ready to paint, varnish or stain.
Photo 3. Glue the strips 2 onto platform 1, using contact or cobbler's glue (use this kind of glue for all of
the fine sheets). Apply the glue to the parts to be joined. Place the platform with the holes in the same
position as shown in the photo. Start to glue the strips into place working from one side to the other until
the whole of the platform has been covered. When you have done this you will have to open up the holes
again, which will allow for the central and lavatory partition walls to be installed (see steps 7 and 17).
Photo 4. Once you have completed the lining turn the platform over and, using a cutter, trim off all of the
excess strips that project beyond the edge of the platform. Eliminate the strips from the two side lugs, at
the ends of the platform, but not from the central lug, which is where the doors are to be fitted.
Photo 5. Extract decorations 5 and 6 from the printed sheet. The decorations are self-adhesive. Use the blade
of a cutter or similar to extract them.
Photo 6. Extract walls 3 and 4 that make up the sink. Before proceeding with the placement of the
decoration, check the position and fit of these on the platform, (see step 7). Place the decorations on the
partitions.
Photo 7. Glue the two partitions to each other using a fast-acting glue (cyanacrolate). The two parts must in
turn be fitted onto the platform, in the slots shown. Once fitted into place cut out the lavatory floor decoration 7
and glue it into place, using white glue or a glue stick.
Photo 8. Now find the Sapelli strips (reddish colour) and cut them into the lengths indicated. First glue the
bottom horizontal strips 8 and 9 into place and then the vertical strips, until you have made up the two panels.
Finally glue two more horizontal strips 8 and 9 at the top. Use contact or cobbler's glue.
Photo 9. From the sheet printed with the decorations cut out the two paper panels 11 and 12. These
decorations then have to be glued onto the outside surfaces of the lavatory partitions. Trim off any
excess paper if necessary.
Photos 10 & 11. Before painting clean the metal parts using a solvent to eliminate possible residues. Glue
parts 13, 14 and 15 together and then paint them gloss white, along with the toiler bowl 16 and the cistern 20.
Paint the tap handle 15 matt black. See the colours table on page 21. Use Sapelli stain (reddish) for the seat
17 and the lid 18, before gluing them. Cut a length of brass wire 19 for the pipe. Paint the toilet roll holder 21
and the edge of the mirror 22 matt brown. Paint the toilet roll a cream colour. Use acrylic or synthetic model
paints. Glue the parts into place as shown in photo 11, making sure that the toilet bowl and the cistern do not
project beyond the edge of partition wall 4. Use fast-acting glue. The green diamonds indicate the units of
metal parts to be used.
Photo 12. Remove the end parts 23 and 24 and stain them Sapelli colour. Cut the strips 25 to the
indicated length and glue them, just on the indicated side of the end parts. Start off by lining them
up with the top centre slot, leaving a 1 mm gap between each strip. Use fast-acting glue and when
you have finished open up all of the holes in that part again.
Photo 13. Cut the strips 10 and 26 to length ready to glue on the interior face of end part 24. Do not cover the
slots in the bottom and sides of the part. Cut out and glue the decorations 27 and 28, having previously
adjusted them to fit. Use contact glue for the strips and white glue, or a glue stick, for the decorations. Carefully
varnish the strips using a pre-filler varnish.
