3. GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION
Restrict access to operating elements
Only people who have been instructed by relevant expert personnel may operate
roller shutters. Particular care should be taken by people who might not assess the
dangers correctly resulting from misuse or incorrect use.
Never allow children to play with the control units! Keep remote controls away from
children.
Operation in storm
Close your window when strong winds occur. Ensure that there are no draughts in
your absence. In a storm, the roller shutters have to either be closed – completely
at the bottom or opened – completely at the top.
TIP: Closed roller shutter cannot withstand every wind load when the window is
open. The stated wind class can only be guaranteed with closed window.
Operation in hot weather
During very hot weather (>30°), it might come to heat accummulation with opened
as well as with closed roller shutters.
We recommend opening the roller shutters far enough so that the light and ventilation
slits are open and sufficient back ventilation can be guaranteed.
With UPVC roller shutters this will also prevent danger of deformation.
Operation in cold weather
During frost the roller shutter might ice up. Avoid forceful operation and do not
open or close the roller shutter when it is frozen.
NOTE: After thawing out, operation is possible again.
Movement range of roller shutter
The lowering of the roller shutter must not be hindered.
NOTE: Pay attention that no obstacles obstruct the movement area of the roller
shutter.

Wrong handling
Never push the roller shutter up, this could lead to malfunctioning.
Undesignated use
Do not weigh down product with additional weights.
Automatic roller shutters in front of balcony and patio doors
If there is a roller shutter with automatic function installed in front of the only
entrance to your balcony or patio, you can lock yourself out.
NOTE: When using the balcony or patio, switch off the automatic function.
Thus you prevent locking yourself out.
Procedure in winter
Switch off automatic control when there is danger of frost.
EXCEPTION: Roller shutter controls which are equipped with overload protection
or with obstacle detection. For motors without obstacle detection: do not raise
roller shutters completely when covered with snow or ice.
Observe motor running time
The used motors are not suitable for permanent operation.
The integrated thermal protection switches off the motor after approx. 4 minutes.
After about 10 - 15 minutes, the product is functionable again.
