ATTENTION!
■ When the listed wind speed is reached, the Venetian blind needs to be taken up!
■ With element heights over 3000 mm, the value listed in Beaufort [bft] needs to be
reduced by 1.
■ When using a wind monitor, always attach it at a position which is most exposed
to wind.
■ The maximum distance from slat to facade must not exceed 100 mm.

3. GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION

3. GENERAL SAFETY INFORMATION
Restrict access to operating elements
Only people who have been instructed by relevant expert personnel may operate
Venetian blinds. Particular care should be taken by people who might not assess
the dangers correctly resulting from misuse or incorrect use.
Never allow children to play with the control units! Keep remote controls away from
children.
Operation in wind
Venetian blinds are not weather protection (e.g. with hail, snow, etc.) When wind
occurs, the Venetian blinds must be taken up, this also applies to Venetian blinds
with electric motors. (Recommended wind speed threshold values for outside
Venetian blinds are around 12 - 15 m/s.)
Operation in winter
When operating Venetian blinds in winter, it is imperative that the system is not iced
up. If ice-free operation cannot be guaranteed, under no circumstances should the
Venetian blind be operated. Operation is only permitted when no ice is present.
Generally the following applies: take Venetian blinds up if there is danger of snow
and ice.
Signs of frost are:
∙ Freezing on of slats and/or bottom bead
∙ Freezing on of guiding rail fitting in the insertion rail
∙ Frost, snow and ice formation on blinds on the inside and outside,
therefore higher stack configuration
∙ Snow and ice in the insertion rails prevents running off
∙ Freezing on in the top end position
∙ Noise developing when tearing off
∙ Condensation forming in raffstore box and freezing on
This is a physicall process which cannot be influenced by the manufacturer. Also
electro drives with obstacle recognition cannot offer 100% protection, especially
observe all notices for automatic drives.
Damage through frost is generally wrong handling errors!
