For your information
• Ensure optimum use of the cool-
ing system with the cooling system
flusher.
• Engine coolant decomposes over
time, leading to contamination with
abrasion particles and foreign bodies.
The combination of compressed air and
water increases the water pressure com-
pared to the main water supply - and with
it the complete efficiency of the cooling
system flushing. The cooling system flusher
is equipped with regulators for both air and
water flow. This allows the water supply to
be shut off directly at the cooling system
flusher instead of at the water tap. The cool-
ing system flusher is designed with a built-in
swivel joint that allows the connected water
hose to rotate freely.
The HAZET cooling system flusher is sup-
plied with a flushing nozzle as standard.
This can easily be changed to other nozzles
e.g. the washer nozzle by using the built-in
bayonet connection. The water is connected
either by using the supplied nipple (1/2" / ø
13 mm) suitable for regular water connectors
or by using the built-in 3/4" GHT water hose
thread.
Draining of old coolant
1. Safety is paramount.
Wait until the engine has cooled down be-
fore working on components of the cooling
system.
2. Press down on the radiator cap (A), turn
it slowly anticlockwise until it hisses, wait
until the hissing stops and then remove the
cap.
3. Place a large container beneath the drain
valve (B) on the underside of the radiator.
Check the location of the drain valves for
the coolant in the engine block and cooling
system in the operating instructions for the
vehicle.
4. Release the drain valve (B) and let the
coolant drain completely.
If the radiator has no drain valve, disconnect

• Prevent this by flushing out the cool-
ing system occasionally and when
replacing parts of the cooling system.

sive chemicals.
the lower radiator hose (C) and allow the
coolant to drain.
If the vehicle has a separate expansion tank
(D), disconnect all connecting hoses from
the cooling system and allow the coolant to
drain.
5. Think of the environment and dispose of
the old coolant properly.
6. Before commencing work, read the
instructions for use thoroughly and follow
them carefully.
7. Prepare the vehicle for flushing.
Radiator: Remove the lower radiator hose
(C), the upper radiator hose (E) and, if possi-
ble, completely remove the drain valve (B) to
allow outflow of residue at the lowest point
of the radiator.
Engine block: Remove the lower radiator
hose (C), the upper radiator hose (E) and the
thermostat (F).
Heater core: Ensure that the heater regula-
tor valve (G) is open before attempting to
flush through the valve. If this cannot be
confirmed, it must be removed.
8. Place the stepped pistol nozzle of the
cooling system cleaner in a hose that is
suitable for the flushing task and flush the
system until the outflow from the radiator
/ engine block / heater core is clear. While
water flows through the system, blow short,
intermittent blasts of air to increase effec-
tiveness.
Radiator: Due to the larger chambers in the
radiator, flushing the radiator initially allows
kinetic waves to pass through the water,
