As a converter

1. Place the device on a level, solid, clean and dry base.
2. Take the pickup arm out of the bracket and place it on the rest. Fold the bracket in.
3. Connect the USB plug of the enclosed USB cable to your computer's USB port when your
computer is on and connect the mini-USB plug to the device's USB port.
4. Place a record on the turntable.
5. Launch the "Audacity
6. Take the pickup arm off of the rest and remove the cover from the pickup.
7. Place the needle slightly somewhat in front of the passage on the record that you intend to
record from. This will prevent the beginning of recording from being accidentally cut off.
8. Click the "Record" button displayed on the "Audacity
9. Click the "Pause" button to interrupt recording.
10. Click the "Stop" button to stop recording. Lift the pickup arm off of the record and place it
back on the rest. The turntable will stop as soon as you place the pickup arm on the rest.
11. To listen to the recorded track, click the "Play" button on the "Audacity
12. Via the menu item "File" on the menu bar and the subitem "Save project as..." you can save
the recorded track as a project in order to subsequently edit it.
To save the recorded track in the formats WAV, MP3 or OGG, select, depending on the
desired file format, the subitem "Export as WAV...", "Export as MP3..." or "Export as
Ogg...".
13. After use, disconnect the USB cable from the device and your computer, lift up the bracket
and insert the pickup arm. Then slide the cover back onto the pickup.

• Before you can use the device to digitise a record, you have to install the en-
closed "Audacity " software on your computer (see chapter "Installation of the

software").
• Please note: the designations of the functions used below relate to the "Audacity
version 1.2.6 for Windows 98, ME, 2000 and XP. The designations may vary
depending on the "Audacity
settings.
• When recording, close all other programmes, which are running, in order to
ensure that the transfer takes place with as little interference as possible.
• Before recording for the first time, check the settings of "Audacity
that the connected device has been selected as the recording device.

Please note: This merely pauses and does not stop the recording process. If you click
the "Pause" button again at a later time, the passage, which has been recorded again,
is added to the previously recorded passage and subsequently saved as a track.
