8. Inserting/Removing the Holder

When inserting the slide or negative holder into the slide/film scanner, observe that the
holder is always inserted into the slide scanner from the right (see chapter 6, item 8).
Never push it into the slide scanner from the left (see chapter 6, item 12), since it may
then be damaged; loss of warranty/guarantee!
Insert the slide or negative holder into the slide scanner in the proper orientation; the mark "THIS
SIDE UP" must point up. Insert the slide/negative holder into the slide scanner to the stop. Do
not apply any force, however.
The slide/negative holder must be moved manually; there is no transport mechanism
in the slide scanner.
To remove it, pull the slide or negative holder out of the insert to the right.

9. Commissioning

• Place the film scanner on a level, firm, and sufficiently large area.
• Insert an SD/SDHC memory card (not enclosed) into the memory card slot (10) on the rear.
Observe correct orientation and do not apply any force. First check that the write protection
of the memory card is deactivated.
If no SD/SDHC memory card is inserted, the slide scanner uses its internal memory.
Only few pictures can be recorded then, however.
• Connect the slide scanner to the mains adapter with the included USB cable. Plug the mains
adapter into a mains socket.
• Your computer's USB port can also be used for power supply. For this, use a USB port of your
computer or a USB hub with a separate mains adapter, since otherwise the power supply will
not suffice (e.g. in case of a USB port on the keyboard, etc.).
• Switch on the slide/film scanner by briefly pushing the "
screen will appear for a few seconds, followed by the main menu. The power LED (5) will
light up.
• To switch off, push the " Power" button (3) again briefly.
