INTRODUCTION

Read carefully through the user manual before you turn on the product.

GENERAL INFORMATION

The Agatec PL3 is a self-leveling 3-dot laser with plumb and level reference points. All 3 laser
dots are set perpendicularly to each other.
Package contents: laser, pouch, drywall adaptor, 3 x AA batteries, user manual.

INSERTING / REPLACING THE BATTERIES
1. Lift up the battery compartment cover, located on the back side of the instrument.
2. Insert the 3 AA batteries in the compartment, respecting the correct polarity.
NOTE:
Use only alkaline batteries.Do not use rechargeable batteries. Remove batteries if the device
will not be used for several months. Extreme temperatures and the use of batteries with dif-
ferent levels of charge can reduce the operating time of the instrument.

FEATURES
(OFF) The PL3 uses a pendulum mechanism for self-leveling. When not in use, the pendulum
should always be in the Off position. Locking the pendulum allows it to better withstand
vibration during transportation or if unit is dropped.
(ON) When the On button is pushed to the right, the pendulum is unlocked and it is free to
automatically level or plumb. In order for the PL3 to automatically level, it must be within 5°
of level.
Note: avoid mis-position of ON/OFF switch.
Auto shut-off
To save battery life, the laser has an automatic shut-off, and will turn off automatically in 1 hour.
Out of level indicator
If the device is positioned more than ±5°out of level, the lasers start blinking quickly. If the
laser is out of level for more than 3 minutes, the beams will shut off automatically.
To restart the unit, set it in a level position (within ±5° of level). Turn it off (left button position) and
5 then turn it on again (right position).
APPLICATIONS
The Agatec PL3 laser can be used in many different applications, as for example:
Carpentry: level trim and windows. Plumb for framing and wall layout.
Electrical: level electrical outlets. Floor-to-ceiling point transfer for lighting installation.
Plumbing: floor-to-ceiling point transfer for ceiling sprinkler system layout.
SETUP
Metal studs or other metal surfaces: Use the magnet on the udrywall adaptor.
Drywall track: The drywall adaptor is designed to extend over a drywall track or floor
stud. This allows for fast plumb set-up when framing out a wall.
Tripod with 1/4": Use the threaded hole located on the bottom of the laser to attach it to
a camera tripod.
Wall: Use the keyhole slot located on the back of the drywall adaptor to attach to a wall
using a drywall screw (at least 5 cm / 2" long).
Floor: Place the laser directly on the floor; or, to see the "down" plumb beam spot, put the
laser on the drywall adaptor.
