For ZBM and ZBM2 a resistive load capable of drawing at least 10-50A at 40-50VDC should
also be available. ZBM3 requires a resistive load capable of drawing at least 10-50A at 40-
70VDC.
An example test connection diagram is given below in Figure 3.

Tidy the ZBMs lifting straps away neatly. They remain on the ZBM.
Ensure the ZBMs terminal connections to the MMS are torqued correctly to 10Nm (7.4ft-lb).
ZBM operation can be initiated by powering the bus that the ZBM is connected to (the circuit
breaker should be in the ON position). This will power up the MMS, and you should hear the
ZBM's fan and pumps begin operation. The ZBM needs to be in RUN Mode in order to charge
and discharge for normal operation. Initiating RUN Mode can be done by writing a "1" to
MODBUS register 0x9033. Alternatively, the ZBM can be entered into Run Mode in the
Battery Service screen using the ClusterMonitor software as shown in Figure 4 below.
Following an initial 5 minute bubble purge period, the ZBM will connect its terminals to the
bus if the bus voltage is greater than 54VDC for ZBM/ZBM2 or 59VDC for ZBM3.
Recommended ZBM voltage ranges for ZBM and ZBM2 are 52-57VDC for charge and 40-
51VDC for discharge. Recommended voltage ranges for ZBM3 are 57-63VDC for charge and
40-56VDC for discharge.
