CU-4 USB Studio Microphone

Intended use
The studio microphone is intended to convert acoustic signals (sound waves) into electrical sig-
nals. It supports podcasting, multimedia presentations, and other applications such as audio re-
cordings.
The USB port may only be connected to appropriate USB ports of computers.
Any use other than as described above is not permitted and can damage the product. In addition,
it can lead to hazards such as short-circuit, fire, etc.
Read the operating instructions carefully and keep them for later reference. If you pass the product
on to a third party, please hand over these operating instructions as well.
No part of the product may be modified or converted.
The safety instructions must be observed at all times.

Safety instructions
F irst, read the complete operating instructions carefully, as they contain important
information about proper operation of the device.
D amage due to failure to follow these operating instructions will void the warranty!
We do not assume any liability for any resulting damage!
W e do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by improper
use or non-compliance with the safety instructions! In such cases, the warranty will
be null and void!
• For safety reasons, any unauthorised conversion and/or modification to the product
are not permitted.
• When connecting the microphone, pay attention to the safety instructions of the de-
vice to which it is to be connected.
• Do not expose the product to high temperatures, strong vibrations, dripping water or
water spray.
• Use the product only in a temperate climate, never in a tropical climate.
• This product is not a toy and should be kept out of reach of children.
• Don't leave packaging material lying around carelessly; it may become a dangerous
plaything for children.
• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impact, blows, or accidental
drops, even from a low height.
• Also observe any further safety instructions in the individual chapters of these oper-
ating instructions.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer's Li-
ability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Facilities are to
be observed.
• If you are unsure how to connect the product properly, or should you have any ques-
tions that are not answered in these operating instructions, please contact our tech-
nical service or consult a professional.
Commissioning
N ever point the microphone onto sound openings of loudspeakers, since this may
lead to acoustic feedback, which may damage the loudspeaker and the computer
connected.
Assembly
• Attach the shock mount on a suitable microphone holder with a 15.8 mm (5/8") thread.
• Squeeze the clips on the inner holder of the shock mount together and push the microphone into
the holder. Release the clips to lodge the microphone in the shock mount.
• Loosen the set screw on the shock mount to adjust the microphone to the desired angle.
• Then tighten the set screw by hand.
• To remove the microphone from the shock mount, squeeze again the clips of the inner holder
together and pull the microphone out of the holder.
Audio recording
• Turn down the volume on the computer.
• Connect the supplied USB cable to the microphone.
• Connect the USB plug to a free USB port on your computer.
• Wait until your operating system has recognised and installed the new hardware. This takes
place automatically.
• If necessary, set up the product as an audio resource on your computer.
• Run the appropriate software for sound recordings.
• Adjust the volume of the computer that has the microphone connected to it.
• Unplug the product after use.
Maintenance and cleaning
The studio microphone is maintenance-free.
Please use a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth for cleaning.
Never use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions; this may damage the surface of the
casing.
Disposal
Electronic devices are recyclable material and must not be disposed of in the house-
hold waste!
Please dispose of the product, when it is no longer of use, according to the current
statutory requirements.
