Fixing the transducer
The transducer can be clamped on all shaft positions. Take attention to not
overthight what could influence the linear bearing preload. The clamping elements
must spread the force as good as possible to a wide area.
Connection cable mount
The probe has an M8 connection according to IO-Link port type A. The pin assignment
is as follows.

IO-Link CI/CO
According to the IO-Link specification Port A, a 4-pin M8 A coded (usually on M12)
sensor cable must be used to connect the probe. This may be a maximum of 10 m long.
A shielding of the wires is not specified. The sensor is thus connected to a suitable
gateway.

Application

Pneumatic advanced transducers
The pneumatically pushed transducer have the following specified maximal pressure
P models - 1.5 bar
L models - 4.5 bar
Application of pneumatic air to push forward the tip is allowed only when contacting a
workpiece. Otherwise the stroke limitation of the linear ball bearing can permanently
be destroyed!
IO-Link Specification und IODD
The sensor is designed and compliant with the IO-Link specification 1.1. All sensors
(8 types) have the DeviceID 1000, which means that they all share the same protocol
functions. The ProductID according to IO-Link corresponds to the article number. An
IODD file is available for all 8 probes. This can be obtained from www.peterhirt.ch on
the corresponding product page.
