INSTRUKTION
Controller for supply air temperature or room
temperature control,
one three-state output.
AQUA230T is primarily intended for control of supply air
temperature or room temperature in water heated/cooled HVAC
systems. It has one three-state output for floating control.
AQUA230T can be used for room temperature control using either
the built-in sensor or an external sensor, or for supply air
temperature control. When running room temperature control
AQUA230T can be run as a cascade controller with minimum
limiting of the supply air temperature. AQUA230T is built for wall
mounting. AQUA230T is built to be used with Regin's TG-sensors.

Installation

If the AQUA230T is to be used with the internal sensor it should be
mounted approx. 5 ft above floor level in a location having a
representative temperature. Avoid exterior walls, sunlit places,
radiators etc. If it is to be used only with external sensor the
mounting position is not critical.
Form of protection:
IP20
Ambient temperature:
0 - 50°C
Sensors
Main sensor
For supply air temperature control the main sensor is placed in the
incoming air duct after the heater.
For room temperature control the main sensor is placed at a
representative location in the room.
Wire the sensor according to fig.1 if the built-in setpoint is to be
used, otherwise according to fig.2 or fig.3 depending on which
external setpoint is to be used.
Limiting sensor
When running room temperature control the AQUA230T may be
wired as a cascade controller with the main sensor in the room
and a limiting sensor in the incoming air duct. Any temperature
deviation in the room results in a shift in the duct controller
setpoint. The size of the shift is determined by the cascade factor
CF.
The duct temperature can, when running cascade control, be
minimum limited.
Wire the limiting sensor according to fig.4.

Other wiring
Supply voltage and outputs
Supply voltage: 24V AC +/-15% 50-60Hz.
Power consumption 5VA maximum
Terminal 1 = Phase.
Terminal 2 = System neutral.
Output: 24V AC, 3VA maximum
Terminal 3 = Common pole
Terminal 8 = Reduce heat
Terminal 9 = Increase heat
Proportional band = 20K
Pulse period = 4 seconds
(A small temperature offset will generate a short pulse every 4
seconds on the output that will counteract the offset. If the offset
increases the pulse will grow longer. A 20K offset will generate
a continuous output signal)
N.B. ALWAYS connect the actuator to these three terminals
only.
Night set-back
Potential-free short circuiting of terminals 4 and 6 will give a
fixed 3K night set-back.
Settings
AQUA230T is on delivery set to values suitable as starting
values for balancing the system.
Final settings must be tried out when the system is
comissioned. Factory settings FS in brackets.
Setpoint 0 - 30°C. Setpoint for the main controller . (FS =
20°C).
CF
1 - 15. Cascade factor. (FS = 1). The value signifies
the immediate change in the duct controller setpoint
for a 1K step change in room temperature. (Cascade
control only).
Min
0 - 30°C. Minimum duct temperature. (FS = 15°C).
(Cascade control only).
N.B. When running single sensor room temperature control
(not cascade control) Min is inactive
and CF is to be set to 1.
