DESCRIPTION of PRODUCT and APPLICATION

The Dometic AC-DC-converter is intended for supplying 12V DC-applications in per-
manent installations. The input power can either be from the main 230V AC-grid net-
work or from a 12V DC supply source.
A. Due to possible moisture accumulation and to achieve opti
mal heat discharge, the Dometic AC-DC converters must be
installed in a well-ventilated area, and must not be covered or
in any other way exposed to circumstances obstructing the
ventilation of the product.
B. Dometic AC - DC converters are permanent installations
made by the producer of the vehicle. It is not allowed to
connect or disconnect any cables to/from the unit or in any
other way alter the installation.
Disregarding from this may cause danger and damages both to the product
and/or it's surroundings

INSTRUCTIONS for USE

To set the Dometic AC-DC converter in operational mode, set the ON/OFF switch
in ON position, see Fig. 2. When 230V, AC input power is available the LED next
to the ON/OFF switch will indicate a green light, see Fig. 2
If this LED indicates no green light, no 230V AC input is connected to the unit.
However the applications can still be supplied by the 12 V DC source (for example
a battery source).

PROTECTIONS

For your safety the Dometic AC-DC converter is equipped with a number of
protections.
3.1

Over heat protection

The over heat protection will cut out in case of over heat inside the unit. To restart
the unit switch it OFF and wait at least 60 seconds before restarting the unit.
If the over-heat protection repeatedly shuts the unit off, it may be covered or the venti-
lation obstructed in some other way. Check, and if so, restore appropriate ventilation
and try to start the unit again.
If the over-heat protection still is activated, contact a service partner certified for the
Dometic AC-DC converters.
3.2

Overload protection and short circuit

The overload protection works in two ways.
A. Moderate overload which in long time run leads to high internal temperature will
act as the over heat protection presented above. The result will be a decreased
output voltage, and the under voltage protection will cut out.
B. The unit is equipped with an internal short circuit protection. At a preset value, the
protection will be activated and switch the unit off. As a result of this, the unit could
be switched off by short circuit protection and without breaking any fuses. Please
be observant if this happens.
