Maintenance and Care

DANGER
Risk of accident due to overdue maintenance and service!
When neglecting maintenance and servicing, worn components may cause accidents.
• The service works and intervals mentioned in this manual must be observed.
• The yearly servicing may only be carried out by people with sufficient expertise and knowledge. If in doubt, please
consult the ROSE service team or a qualified bicycle mechanic.
Servicing is required after a specific period of time or after a certain amount of kilometres ridden, whichever comes first.
Task
Clean the seat post.
• All movable parts of the seat post and the scraper particularly need to be
cleaned after every ride.
• Never use a high pressure washer!
• Do not use aggressive cleaning agents.
• Pay attention to the notes and recommendations for use printed on the
respective cleaner.
Check the functionality of the seat post
Visual inspection of the seat post.
• Make sure the seat post has no visible damage.
• Make sure the black coating of the dip tube is not worn.
Check the torques.
• Check the torque of the seat post clamp
(see „3.8 Installing the seat post in the bicycle frame" on page 17).
• Check the torque of the saddle clamp bolts
(see „3.4 Installing the saddle on the seat post" on page 14).
Remove seat post, clean clamping area of seat post and bicycle frame, install seat
post using assembly paste.
Servicing of seat post and replacement of wearing parts.
