Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Der USB-Umschalter dient zum Umschalten von bis zu vier PCs an ein USB-Gerät. Dabei kann
es sich um ein einzelnes USB-Gerät wie z.B. einen USB-Scanner handeln oder auch um einen
USB-Hub, an dem mehrere Geräte angesteckt sind.
Durch den Umschalter ist ein umständliches Umstecken nicht mehr erforderlich, es genügt
einfaches Umschalten.

Anschluss
• Verbinden Sie die vier quadratischen USB-Typ-B-Buchsen mit je einem freien USB-Port
eines PCs.
• Stecken Sie Ihr USB-Gerät an der rechteckigen USB-Typ-A-Buchse an. Wenn Sie einen USB-
Hub und daran weitere Geräte anstecken, können selbstverständlich alle Geräte umge-
schaltet werden.
Bedienung
Durch Betätigen der jeweiligen Drucktaste auf der Vorderseite wird über einen mechanischen
Schalter innen im Umschalter eine Verbindung zwischen einem der vier PCs und dem ange-
schlossenen USB-Gerät hergestellt.
Drücken Sie nur jeweils eine Taste. Bei gleichzeitiger Betätigung mehrerer Tasten
kann es zur Beschädigung der USB-Schnittstellen der PCs bzw. des angeschlossenen
USB-Geräts kommen.
Tipps & Hinweise
• Der Standfuß unten am Umschalter ist abnehmbar.
• Durch den Umschalter erspart man sich das lästige und umständliche Umstecken der USB-
Kabel, wenn ein USB-Gerät an mehr als einem PC abwechselnd betrieben werden soll.
Außerdem werden die empfindlichen USB-Anschlüsse des PCs und des USB-Geräts
geschont.
• Durch die mechanische Umschaltung ist es auch möglich, USB2.0-Ports umzuschalten.
• Das Kabel zwischen PC und USB-Gerät sollte nicht länger als 5m sein. Dabei zählt der USB-
Umschalter nicht mit. Das bedeutet, dass 3m Kabel vom PC zum Umschalter und 3m vom
Umschalter zum USB-Gerät insgesamt 6m ergeben, was meist zuviel ist.
Verwenden Sie bei Problemen bei der Erkennung der USB-Geräte kürzere USB-Kabel. Dies
gilt vor allem bei USB2.0-Geräten.

Intended Use
The USB Box is used to connect up to four PCs to a USB device. It can concern here a single
USB device such as, for example a USB scanner or a USB hub into which several devices are
plugged.
The box means that laborious changing over of plugs is no longer necessary – one simple box
is sufficient!

Features
• Mechanical switch-over using a pushbutton,USB2.0 and USB1.1-compatible
• Four PCs can be connected
• One USB device can be connected (e.g. also a USB hub with more USB devices)
Connection
• Connect the four square USB-type B jacks each to one free USB port of your PC.
• Connect your USB device to the rectangular USB-type A jack. If you connect a USB hub and
to it in turn more devices, you can naturally switch to each device.
Operation
By operating the pushbutton concerned on the front, a connection between one of the four PCs
and the connected USB device is made through a mechanical switch inside the box.
Tips and information
• The base foot at the bottom of the box can be removed.
• Through the box, you save burdensome and laborious re-plugging of the USB cables if a USB
device is to be operated alternately on more than one PC. Apart from this, the sensitive USB
connections of the PCs and the USB devices are conserved
• Through mechanical switch-over, it is also possible to switch the USB2.0 ports.
• The cable between the PC and the USB device should not be longer than 5m. The USB box
does not count here. That means that with 3m of cable from the PC to the box and 3m from
the box to the USB device, there is a total of 6m which is usually too much.
Use shorter USB cables if there are problems in recognising the USB devices. That applies
above all to USB2.0 devices.
