TV Display
Here you may adjust the output of the DVD-Player to match the
aspect ration of your display unit.
Background: Unless you have a wide-screen TV, the aspect ratio of
your image display is 4:3. Most movies however, have an aspect ratio
of 16:9, therefore the picture is to wide for TV playback.
You may select here how the playback of the movie will appear on
your output device:
■
Normal/PS:
You may only view the center area of the movie. The edges are
cut off.
■
Normal/LB:
You may view the entire range of the movie in a reduced version;
therefore a black bar appears on the top and bottom of the
screen.
■
Wide:
Choose this option if you have a wide-screen TV. Keep in mind
that movies recorded in an aspect ratio of 4:3 will display in the
same 4:3 ratio. Therefore it will not populate the entire screen of
the wide-screen TV.
NOTE:
The setting "Norm/PS" is not supported by all DVDs.
