4. Fix the rescue rope to the chest or rear of the harness/rescue harness/rescue sling.
The operator grabs and pulls the rope feed downwards so that the lanyard between
the equipment and the user is fully tensioned. The operator then bends the knees
until the rescue harness/rope carries the operator's full weight. The operator
then carefully swings outwards. Descent starts when the grip on the rope feed is
released.

5. As soon as the first person/persons have reached safety and released themselves
from the rope, the next person/persons can hook up to the rope feed (which will
now become the rescue rope) using the snap hook by the device.
When RESQ DD™ is used as stationary equipment for evacuation in emergency
situations, for example up in the nacelle of a wind turbine, the rope length is often
adapted between the two snap hooks so that the users will reach ground at the
same time as the free snap hook arrives at the device.
When RESQ DD™ is used as a mobile unit the rope may be too long, resulting in the
returning snap hook not travelling the full way back to the device. The rope can be
complemented with a figure-of-eight knot and a snap hook, see fig. 12 below, a few
