Connection of the device and maintenance work while under volt-
age must only be carried out by a qualified electrician.

During commissioning, protect the device against humidity and
soiling.
Ä
Observe the degree of protection, VDE protection class and pro-
tective circuit.
Ä
Before connecting the device, be sure that the supply voltage
agrees with the value printed on the name plate.
Ä
Ensure that the functional earth (FE) is connected correctly. Fault-
free operation is only guaranteed if the functional earth is con-
nected properly.
Ä
Connect the connection unit to the BCL 8 or to the BPS 8.
Ä
Switch on the supply voltage.
The status LED on the BCL 8 or BPS 8 must illuminate green.
