Activate and test
Before using the smoke alarm, it is important to activate and test the product. Place the smoke
alarm on the mounting plate and turn it clockwise. Then press the test button. If the device is
functioning correctly, it will emit a beep and light signal. If this is not the case, do not use the unit
and contact the supplier.
Note: The test signal volume is lower than the alarm signal volume. To hear the volume of the
alarm signal, press and hold the test button for approx. 15 seconds. A few seconds after the test
signal, you will hear the alarm signal of > 85 dB (A).

Choose a room
We recommend to install smoke alarms in the following areas:
•
At least 1 smoke alarm on every floor.
•
In rooms that are part of an escape route (hall, landing).
•
In bedrooms (especially in children's rooms).
•
In rooms with electrical appliances (especially washing
machines or dryers).
•
In remote rooms that are used often but where the alarm
signal of other devices might not be heard.
•
A smoke alarm can monitor an area of up to 60 m
an additional smoke alarm if the surface area of a room is
larger than 60 m
