f) Playing photos and video on your computer
The video signal from the wilderness camera can be transmitted to an external monitor or
television. Follow the instructions for the respective playback device.
• Connect the television or monitor to the camera using an AV cable (not included). Plug the
cable's connection plug into the AV video connection (11) and connect the other end to the
input connection on the playback device.
• Switch the camera on. Slide the slide switch to the SETUP position (7).
• After connection, the camera switches to playback mode and the LC display (20) is switched
off automatically. The camera's image signals are displayed on the external display device.
g) Copying/deleting files
The camera can be connected to a computer and is recognised as an external memory device.
• Connect the camera to your computer using the USB cable (included).
• After connecting successfully, the camera's memory card will be displayed on the computer
as a new mass storage device. Photos and videos can be found in the 'DCIM/100MEDIA'
folder. These can be copied to the computer and/or deleted from the card, if necessary.
Do not disconnect the cable or remove the memory card while copying photos/
videos.
Settings and functions in the OSD menu
To open the OSD menu and implement settings, proceed as follows:
• Slide the slide switch to the SETUP position (7).
• After a few seconds, the LC display (20) shows the live image from the in-built camera.
• Press the MENU button (14) to open or exit the OSD menu. Press the MENU button again
to return to the previous menu or to exit the menu settings.
• Use the left and right arrow buttons (15) and (18) to select the desired setting.
• Press the OK button (17) to confirm and store the setting.
The following settings are available:
1. 'Mode'
This function is used to select whether the wilderness camera saves only photos or only videos
when the PIR motion detector is triggered. If you select photo and video mode, the wilderness
camera takes a photo and then starts recording. The parameter settings for photo and video
recording correspond to those for photo and video.
Confirm the setting with the OK button, otherwise it will not be applied.
2. 'Photo resolution'
Use this function to set the desired photo resolution. You can choose from different resolutions,
for example, 20 M and 16 M (5376 x 3024).12 M (4608 x 2592), 8 M (3840 x 2160) etc. as well
as down to 1 M (1280 x 720).
3. 'Photo series'
Here, you can set the number of photos that the wilderness camera should take when the PIR
motion detector is activated. You can set 1, 2 or 3 photos.
4. 'Video resolution'
Use this function to set the desired video resolution.
The wilderness camera can store video in different resolutions, e.g. 1920 x 1080, 1280 x 720,
720 x 480 or 640 x 480 pixels etc. Select the desired video resolution: the higher the resolution,
the more detailed the videos will be. However, the larger files will require more storage space.
5. 'Video length'
Set how long the video recording will last when the PIR motion detector is activated. You can
set from 1 to 60 seconds and from 1 to 10 minutes. The longer the selected recording time, the
shorter the possible operating time. The default video length is 5 seconds.
6. 'Audio recording'
Set whether or not ambient audio signals should be recorded. This function can be switched
on or off.
7. 'Shot lag'
A recording delay time can be selected of between 5 seconds and 60 minutes. This determines
how long the wilderness camera should pause for after a recording. The camera will not take
photos or record videos during the selected interval. This prevents the memory card from being
filled with too many recordings of the same event.
- Example: You set a time of 1 minute. If the wilderness camera was activated by the PIR
motion sensor and a photo or video has been taken, it is reactivated only after this time
period has elapsed.
8. 'Sensitivity motion sensors'
Here you set the sensitivity of the motion sensor. You can choose between 3 different levels.
Select 'High' for indoors and low-noise environments. Select 'Medium' for outdoors and envi-
ronments with normal interference and 'Low' for environments with high interference.
Note that if you set the sensitivity to high, there may be false trips. High sensitivity
is typically suitable for indoors and low-noise environments. In contrast, only larger
objects (or larger heat changes in the detection range) are detected at low sensitivi-
ty. Low sensitivity is suitable for outdoors or environments with high interference.
9. 'Target recording time'
Here you can set the intended recording time of the camera. Press the MENU button select the
menu items for the duration of the recording. Press the button, and then select the start and end
time. Once setting is complete, the camera will work during the set time each day and revert to
standby mode at all other times.
10. 'Set time lapse'
This function allows you to activate automatically time-controlled recording. The recording is
carried out irrespective of activation by the PIR motion sensor; the time selected is used as
the recording interval. For example, if you wish to record flowers blooming, you can use a time
lapse. The camera automatically takes images in each setting time interval.
Select 'Set time lapse' in the menu and select switch on or off. Set the time duration for the
break in recording in hours, minutes and seconds.
Example: You set a time of 60 minutes in the 'Set time lapse' function. The wilderness camera
will now save an image every 60 minutes.
11. 'Language'
Here, you can set the language of the OSD menu. You can choose from 13 languages:
English, German, Danish, Finnish, Swedish, Spanish, French, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Chi-
nese Modern, Chinese Traditional, Japanese
12. 'Time & date'
Open the menu with the MENU button (14) to select the time and date, and then press the OK
button to set it.
Set the time and date format. Set the corresponding time/date according to the local time.
Press the left or right arrow buttons (15) or (18) to adjust the size of the value. Press the OK
button to go to the next setting to change. Press the MENU button (14) to close the settings.
Time format: 12/24 hours
Date format: DD/MM/YYYY, YYYY/MM/DD, MM/DD/YYYY
13. 'Photo stamp'
If you would like to know when a photo was saved, you can enable this function to display the
date and the time on the photo (not available for videos). The data bar of the photo stamp also
shows the moon phase, ambient temperature in degrees Celsius and Fahrenheit, the date and
time as well as the sequential number of the photo.
Open this menu item and select the menu item to switch the time stamp on or off. Confirm with
the OK button (17).
14. 'Password protection'
After selecting this function and confirming with the OK button, you can enter a password (4-di-
git number, e.g. 9876) to secure access to the OSD menu. Keep this password in a safe place.
To select password protection in the menu, navigate to this menu item and then press the OK
button. Set a 4-digit combination password consisting of the digits 0 to 9.
If you forget the start password, press and hold the MENU (14) and PLAY (16)
buttons simultaneously with the camera switched off and move the slide switch to
SETUP (7). The camera is unlocked.
15. 'Beep sound'
Set whether a beep tone should be emitted as a confirmation tone. Open the menu item by
confirming/pressing the OK button (17).
Select the menu items for on/off and confirm with the OK button.
16. 'Format memory card'
This function is used to format the inserted memory card.
Select the menu item. After confirming with the OK button (17), a security prompt appears
('No' = Cancel, 'Yes' = format memory card). All data on the memory card will be lost during
the formatting process.
17. 'Serial NO'
If you use multiple wilderness cameras, you can set a 4-digit number/letter combination that
is shown at the bottom edge of each photo (not for videos). To set a unique serial number for
each camera, open the serial number menu item and press the OK button (17). Switch on and
set a 4-digit serial number (combination of digits 0 to 9 and/or letters).
18. 'Reset settings'
Reset the camera to its factory settings.
Open the menu item for resetting the settings and confirm your selection with the OK button.
19. 'Version'
Displays the current firmware version of the wilderness camera. Open the menu item to see the
version information of the wilderness camera's firmware.
Deleting files from the memory card and write protection
Delete the current file
Use this function to delete the currently selected image or video from the camera memory card.
• In playback mode, press the MENU button (14) and select 'Delete current document'. Press
OK (17) to confirm.
• Press the right arrow button (18) to select 'Delete' again and press the 'OK' button to confirm
deletion of the file.
Delete all files
Use this function to delete all images or videos from the camera memory card at once.
• In playback mode, press the MENU button (14) button and select 'Delete all documents'.
Press OK (17) to confirm.
• To confirm deletion of the file, press the OK button.
