Choice of position
Wind reading devices should be able to read wide spectrum wind conditions. In order to
obtain comparable surface wind readings, the reading must be performed at a height of
10 metres on a surface with no irregularities.
A surface with no irregularities means that the distance between the anemometer and
any obstacles must be at least ten times the height of the same obstacle.
If this requirement can not be complied with, the anemometer must be placed at a height
which guarantees that the data read is not influenced by any local obstacles (around 6-
10 m above the level of the disturbances).
On flat roofs the anemometer must be placed in a central position on the roof and not
near the drainpipes to avoid any possible preferential directions.
Maintenance
When this device is assembled to top workmanship standards it requires no maintenance.
Strong environmental pollution can block the groove between the rotating elements and
the fixed parts.
This groove must always be kept clean.
