How do I use my Smartscope?

Switch on the light in the Smartscope. Open the camera
app on your tablet or smartphone. Place the lens of your
tablet or smartphone on top of the lens of the
Smartscope. The bright spot in the image on your screen
helps you aim correctly.

Place objects that you would like to examine in the
object tray under the lens. If you put the object in the
object holder first, this will help you move the object
around once it is under the lens, so you can get the
nicest images.

Focusing: use the dials to move the object tray up and
down, until you have a sharp image on your screen. The
more you would like to magnify the object, the closer
the object should be to the lens.

To assemble the tablet support, insert the colored tabs into the slots that are marked by arrows.

To use the Smartscope with a larger tablet, you need the tablet support.
You can take out
the lighting unit
and place it at the
top or the bottom
of the Smartscope, so you can illuminate your object
from different angles. Transparent objects such as
water or crystals are best illuminated from below.
Bigger or non-transparent objects such as insects or
coins are best illuminated from above.

You can choose between two levels of magnification
by moving the lens holder.
