Using the

Hand Control

Your NexStar SLT's computerized hand control
contains a database of thousands of celestial
objects. But before your telescope can accurately
point to these objects in the sky, you need to align
the database to known positions (stars) overhead.
Celestron's SkyAlign procedure makes this process
quick and easy. To align with SkyAlign, follow the
steps below.

Use the scroll UP and DOWN scroll buttons
(located on #6 and #9) to select "SkyAlign. " Then
press ENTER. Next, you will enter the time and your
observing location.

Using the numeric key pad, enter the current
time. Press ENTER to continue. Press BACK to
backspace.

Turn power switch (located on the side of the fork
arm) to the "ON" position. The light will illuminate and
the hand control will display "NexStar SLT. "

Normally, your hand control will display the last
entered time and location data. But since this is your
first time using the hand control, no information is
stored. Press BACK to begin entering these details.

Now, using the UP and DOWN scroll buttons, verify
your time zone and press ENTER.

Press ENTER to begin the alignment procedure.

Press ENTER to select City Database. Use the UP
and DOWN scroll buttons to choose the closest city to
your present location. Press ENTER after selecting the
country, state and city.

Using the numeric key pad, enter the date. Press
ENTER to continue. If you make a mistake, press
BACK to backspace.
