[B] Care and Maintenance
[C] Use
1. Ensure that the Rocker is orientated correctly as indicated by the figure stamped into the frame
2. Open the side frame and push rope between both the fixed cam and the pivoting cam
3. The Rocker is designed for use as part of a personal fall arrest, work positioning, technical rope
access, fixed rope sports, industrial climbers or technical rescue. ISC recommends the use of EN 1891 A
low stretch kernmantle rope
4. Only a full body harness with appropriate fall arrest attachment points should be used
5. Any anchor point should conform to EN795, ANSI Z359, any other internationally recognised specific
standard or be a non-engineered anchor point that is capable of withstanding appropriate loads
6. Ensure that there is suitable clearance below the user, so that in the event of a fall, the user will not
collide with any obstacles. This should take in to account arrest distance, rope stretch etc.
[D] Misuse
1. Do not place hands on the rope above the Rocker during use
2. Industry best practices dictate that the Rocker back up device shall never be lower than its attachment
point or the main descending device, whichever is the higher. The user should keep any slack to a
minimum
3. Do not use on greasy ropes
4. Do not use the Rocker upside down
[E] Thumb Catch Operation
The Rocker is equipped with a thumb catch to allow the Rocker to stay in position on a rope when left
unattended
1. Push the Thumb Catch forwards to lock the Rocker on to the rope
2. Pull the Thumb Catch backwards to allow the Rocker to trail up and down the rope
[F] Pre-use Check
1. Check for obvious signs of wear and sharp edges
2. The pivoting cam should be able to move freely
3. Ensure the thumb-catch moves smoothly
[G] Attachment
ISC recommend a direct connection (single connector) between the Rocker and harness.
If a flexible connection is preferred, then the total length of lanyard including connectors shall be a
maximum of 25cm.
[H] Applications
The Rocker can be used in the following ways, but ISC recommend that users be trained in its many uses
and learn about both its practical and physical strengths and weaknesses.

EN353-2; Towers [3], Confined Space [4], Bosun's Chair [5],
