TENSION STRESSES IN HEAT
EXCHANGER CONNECTIONS
The
following
must
connecting pipes to the heat exchanger:
No radial or axial loads must be applied
to
the
fresh
operation.
For pipelines, allow two bends and at
least 1 meter of straight pipe before the
first fixing point. If the first fixing point is
closer, the pipe installation must be
calculated with regard to the stresses in
the
pipes
connections arising from dead loads and
deformations due to thermal expansion
and internal overpressure.
If additional loads cannot be avoided, the
pipe must be supported from below to
ensure
that
connections do not buckle downwards.
Re-tighten the union nuts securing the
pipelines to the heat exchanger.
6.7
ELECTRICAL WORK
The control unit is factory-assembled, and all
electrical wiring in the fresh water station is
pre-assembled. Functional inspection is carried
out at the manufacturer.
Make the electrical connections to the fresh
water station (see Section 4.4 Electrical
diagram).
NOTE: Before the fresh water station is
opened, the bolts on the lid must first be
unscrewed to prevent the front plate being
damaged.

Ensure that the circuit
breaker for the live supply
to the fresh water station
is locked in the off
position.
If there is no circuit
breaker, install one.
Connect the power cable
between the circuit
breaker and the automatic
control cabinet.
7 OPERATION AND
MAINTENANCE
7.1
COMMISSIONING
Fill slowly and, if possible, from the
lowest point.
Open the shut-off valve on the cold tap
water valve so there is flow throughout
the hot water exchanger and the pipe
network is filled.
Start and vent the hot water circulation
pump (VV-P1). Inspect/clean any filter(s)
before the hot water circulation pump for
about 6 hours.
7.2
PERIODIC MAINTENANCE
Check twice yearly that there are no leaks from
the fresh water station and its peripheral
equipment. Inspect the whole installation
regularly. When doing so, note the pressure and
temperature in an inspection schedule to be
able to see differences over time.
