Connect the power.
Connect the power cable to the back of the SM-500 chassis, and then
connect the other end of the power cable to your local power source.
NOTE: The Sequence Mirror's power usage is 150 Watts Max
or 510 BTU/hr.
Configure SM-500 Network Settings.
Use the front-panel keypad and LCD to assign an IP address, the subnet
mask, and the default gateway for the SM-500 as follows:
Press Enter (center button) twice to initiate
5
configuration.
Use the up and down arrow buttons to display a
5
number (between 0-9).
Use the left and right arrow buttons to move to
5
the previous or next character.

Use the Enter button (center) to make a selection.
NOTE: By default, the Sequence Mirror's 10/100/1000 interfaces are set to auto-negotiate the speed and duplex mode.
However, it is strongly recommended that you use the front panel to set the interface speed and duplex mode for the
Sequence Mirror. The Sequence Mirror's LOCAL port settings should match the interface settings of the switch, and the
REMOTE port settings should match the interface settings of the router.
After you have entered SM-500 network settings, choose Save to save the device configuration.
Check the LEDs next to the 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports.
If the LINK LEDs light, the device is properly connected.

The SPEED LEDs indicate 100 or 1000 Mb connectivity.
After checking the LEDs, you should verify connectivity between the
devices on both sides of the SM-500 again
(as described in Step 3).
